First you have to understand that there is a dearth of good restaurants in the Aurora- Newmarket area. From the outside Joia looked looked pretty bleak, inside it was dated but comfortable. The first problem we encountered was 1 menu to be shared by 3 and this was a Wed night! Secondly asking for a house wine recommendation was dismissed, their house wines aren't cheap $40++ The scollap appetiser was somewhat pathetic for the price , However my main course a shrimp rissotta was excellent! The rest of our party had pasta which was good but did not justify it's price. To offer only 2 standard flavour sorbets in this day and age is almost unforgiveable. Our waiter seemed rushed off his feet and therefore a little impatient. However willing to try again but it will have to be better for me to ever go back.
