My husband and I live on Cape Breton and had always wanted to go try the food at the Cape Breton Smokehouse. We finally made it there today and it was nice. The Menu is small, which makes for quick service. It is overpriced for your average restaurant in the area. My husband had the oktoberfest sausages with fries, which was excellent, and I had the beef goulash with mashed potatoes and veggies, which was ok. The goulash was a bit bland, but still good. For dessert we each had a slice of german cheesecake, which was absolutely to die for !!! The Restaurant itself is a beautiful log cabin style house. We sat on a table right by a huge picture window overlooking the lake. Very friendly staff and overall a nice experience. I know we will be back for some more cheesecake someday :-)
