“Very good food and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Me and my boyfriend ate here and the food was great. I had the pan fried haddock with caesar salad and he had the fish and chips. The caesar salad was excellent, loved the homemade dressing for the caesar salad, was nice and garlicy which I really like. The fish was cooked perfectly. We each had a caesar to drink and they were well made. Love the atmosphere too, it being a small irish pub. Would definitely return. I would recommend if you are going to get the menu items that are dock specialities. The calamari we had as an appetizer was just all right definitely had better at other restaurants.

“Lovely atmosphere,food,and staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

Cosy, warm, and a perfect place to connect with friends. With the fireplace glowing, and seating condusive to conversation,it invites one to come in from the cold. They offer an extensive menu of food choices, and beverage choices, and hearty portions.
It is a favorite of the locals, and that's it's own recommendation. Stop in and say "Hello" to proprietors Wayne and Carmel Margeson. St. Patrick's Day is a memorable experience at this Irish Pub,so drop by in the afternoon to ensure a seat for the evening fun!

“Good place to meet locals.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

Chefs come and go; some are good and some are poor. The food never rises above adequate. But it's a very popular place with locals and you'll always find a good vibe.

“Don't let them do you a favour”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Whilst the decor is good not much else is. The Dock is another one of those establishments that thinks that they are doing you a favour by opening their doors to let you in. They close on holidays (just when the hospitality industry should be working). They shut early if they no more food orders and generally expect to make a living at the necassary inconvenience of having customers. They used to sell Guinness, but didn't get on with the sales rep so had it removed (if you can believe that?), and still have all the signage, but alas no more (a necessary staple of an Irish bar I would have thought.
They do have a function room, but it is poorly decorated and expensive to hire even though you're buying their drinks and paying for their food!

“Really good mussels, not so great service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

I'm new to the area and everyone recommended The Dock so I gave it a try around 8pm on a Saturday night. It was pretty busy, we weren't greeted at the door, eventually given a table in a back corner where we could barely move or see anything.......but, the energy was good and the menu looked good. We ordered the garlic mussels (too bad there was only one order left and the waitress didn't let us know until after we decided what we wanted to order), crab cakes and calamari. The mussels were tiny but delicious, it barely came with any broth and they wanted to charge us extra for bread, the calamari was decent but it was a very small portion and the crab cakes were uneatable. They were $8 and only came with two and it tasted what I imagine deep fried cat food would taste like. The waitress didn't come back once during our entire meal to ask us if everything was ok. I know it was reasonably busy but the service was not good and it took two separate conversations with the manager to get the crab cakes taken off our bill since we didn't even eat them.
In conclusion: The atmosphere was nice for a pub,the service wasn't the greatest, the mussels were delicious but don't try the crab cakes.
