“Consistently excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013 via mobile

We have stayed here many times over the years and are never disappointed. The food, the hospitality, the evening sing-along ending in a serenade with "Taps" on the porch, and the interesting people who gather here from around the world are always a pleasure. We love the cottage for ourselves but have often brought clients or family to stay in the main house. This B&B is a jewel in a town that has a lot to offer for a relaxing getaway.

This is a lovely B&B run with loving care by Paul and Suzy. The view from our room over the water with the sun rising and the tree colours turning added to its delightful position.
Mahone Bay is a pretty place and was gearing up for Halloween with a multitude of Pumpkins.
We were able to explore the back roads thanks to maps supplied by Paul sustained by our delicious breakfast supplied by Suzy

Room Tip: Al rooms are well furnished and maintained

As the name suggests, Edgewater looks out over the storybook seascape of Mader’s Cove just a few corners out of delightful downtown Mahone Bay. Three of the four suites are housed in a delightfully renovated late-nineteenth century ‘Lunenburg bump’ residence – the other is a stand-alone fully equipped cottage. Tastefully decorated and meticulously maintained by the owners who live in an onsite suite, This is among the best of the genre that we have experienced – on all counts. Spacious and sumptuous communal living areas and comfortable, well-furnished suites that tick all the boxes are complimented by a truly outstanding breakfast experience. Susan’s presentation and five star cooking are complimented by Paul’s personable, attentive and efficient service. Interesting B&Bs usually have interesting guests and Edgewater is no exception so the breakfast table is sure to stimulate more than just the taste buds. If you’re there alone, fear not, Paul makes a great stand-in and his morning piano serenades were a fitting overture to our daily breakfast banquet. If you are heading this way you can do no better.

Best B&B we've ever stayed in. Booked the sea mist cottage separate from the main house, for 3 nights. It was quiet, plenty of sitting areas in and out overlooking the water. Had a clean, fully updated kitchen so we enjoyed cooking up the local fresh mussels for dinner 2 nights. The hosts made Fresh and delicious breakfasts each morning, greeted by piano music by Paul, who also played several trombone songs from the porch at sunset. Totally enjoyable. From the welcome glass of wine and homemade cookies to the goodbye hugs, we felt very comfortable throughout our entire stay !! Definitely recommend this quiet side, conveniently located near lunenburg, easy drive to Peggy's cove and worth the trip over from the Digby ferry.

We recently stayed 2 nights, with our party booking the Edgewater cottage (next door to the B & B), as well as 2 more individual rooms in the main house. The perfect little cottage has its own full kitchen, as well as a wonderful front sitting porch and a 2nd story balcony with a higher fantastic view of the cove. My very large room in the main house had the convenience of a Queen bed with an adorable additional single bed nook area. We all had wonderful sleeps, falling asleep to the singing crickets outdoors. Beds were exceptionally comfortable with quality cotton bedding and great pillows. Susan and Paul(a zenmaster) are quintessential hosts, being available when needed for maps, suggestions for activities and many small details such as the sweet treats left daily. Susan's scrumptious breakfasts and Paul's trombone playing (Taps nightly) topped off our wonderful stay. I have stayed at B&Bs across Canada, including BC and this is one B&B I can say without hesitance, that would satisfy even the fussiest of guests. The "south shore area" of Mahone Bay, Chester and Lunenburg is our favourite area in Nova Scotia
to visit. If you come, take the time to stay at the Edgewater B&B; you will leave relaxed, happy and content! What more could you ask for?

My sisters and I stayed at the Edgewater B&B for 2 nights late August. We had a wonderful stay as the B&B has a great location, its quiet and the food & service from Paul & Susan is superb.

The attention to detail from the beautiful flowers to the room amenities is excellent. Clearly, the owners work very hard delivering a first rate product. Paul was helpful assisting us choose some local activities. We were even able to enjoy a special evening musical interlude with a trombone player imported from the United States!

Thanks Susan & Paul!

My wife and I spent a wonderful 5 nights at this B&B actually in Madder's cove, a little cove off Mahone bay about 5 minutes by car from downtown Mahone Bay. It sits across the quiet street from the cove with glorious views from a front porch. The room we had was very comfortable, a king-sized bed with extra pillows, private bath, and good views of the cove from the side windows. We were served a different breakfast every morning, beautifully done Belgian Waffles one morning, savory crepes another, puffy baked egg dish with cheese a third, for example, with juice, fruit, coffee, and home-baked scones, muffins and other delights. The place is extremely friendly, with common areas host Paul encouraged us to use, a piano for those of us who are so inclined, and a breakfast table informally set to seat 8 and encourage talk among the guests. Our hosts introduced us to each other by first names encouraging us not to be shy and withdrawn. They also provided maps and descriptions of interesting sites and towns to visit, Lunenburg, for example, and Annapolis Royal. The area is beautiful, the town is quaint and friendly and there are lots of things to see and do in Nouvelle-Ecosse. Go now!

Room Tip: There are 3 rooms of different sizes and a cottage separate from the main house (breakfast included...
