“Very interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Beautiful grounds. The story of the Acadian people and their diaspora was fascinating. Explained a lot to those of us from the States. Worth the admission if you are interested in history.

“Lovely grounds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

Grand Pre is lovely place for a stroll. There is an additional fee to go inside the church. It gave a nice representation of the Acadian deportation and settlement.

“Well worth the visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

This museum not only relates the story of the Acadian expulsions, but also explores the farming techniques of the early settlers -- especially dyking -- and the Longfellow's role in commemorating the Acadian experience.

“Not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

This is a really interesting presentation of the Acadian story. The movie is well done and informative and we found those working at the site helpful. The Evangeline statue is special since she seems to age as you view her from different sides. And the chapel is lovely.

“Evangelines Statue in Grand Pre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Grand Pre Founded I the early 1680!sby young people from Port Royal Grand Pre became the bread basket of Acadie and one of the largest Acadian settlements before the deportations. 6,000 Acadians were deported ..Evangeline husband to be was very sick and Evangeline stayed behind to be with him, she lost track of him ,however she never gave up .The Evangeline Statue was erected in her memory of her courage and determination. The old wooden church still stands to day.. A beautiful Historic place to visit.. You can walk around the grounds and visit the deportation cross ,the duck pond ,Bust of Longfellow, and the black smith shop and much more.
