The two ladies of Spinning Wheel overbooked us in error but accommodated us instead in a nearby hotel that was beautiful. We came back to Spinning Wheel to eat the best breakfast of our entire trip and enjoyed visiting with other travelers around the breakfast table. Spinning Wheel is literally right outside the entrance to Louisburg Fort.

Arrived after our check in time, but Roseanne ran right over to settle us in. Had the Captain's room for one night. A little small but very comfortable, well appointed, and very clean. Hall bathroom was very large and immaculate...in fact the whole place was spotless. Joann cooked us a great breakfast (try the fish cakes). We were initially taken aback by the house's exterior appearance (it looks like a typical house more than a B&B) but were very pleasantly surprised. Right in town, and very close to Louisbourg fortress.

We stayed one night at the Spinning Wheel. My husband and I had one room and my mother the other which shared a bathroom. The rooms were small but comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. There is a comfortable shared living room and a delicious breakfast was served in the morning. This isn't a place with the ambiance you would be seeking for a romantic getaway, but if you're looking for a clean and comfortable room at a good price you can't beat the Spinning Wheel B&B.

My husband and I stayed one night in the Lighthouse Room at the Spinning Wheel B & B. This
room has an ensuite bathroom with shower only. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean.
There are two other rooms on the main floor with a shared bathroom. There is also a sitting room with TV available for guests. We had a wonderful sleep in a very good bed and quiet surroundings. The owner, Joanne, prepared a large and tasty breakfast in the morning, and we enjoyed talking with her about Louisbourg, the Fort and surrounding area. We were very glad to have booked this B & B.

We only stayed one night, (Sept. 20th) wishing we had stayed another..
When we got there, Joanne wasn't home , but there was another lady who dealt with us. She was very helpfull.
We got lucky, as we had a room with a shared bathroom, and no one else was booked in.. so we had the place pretty much to our selves.
The room was small, tidy, clean.. The bed very comfortable... and the bathroom clean clean clean...
we had the front room to watch a bit of t.v.. which I did. and Joanned offered to make me tea, and biscuits. if I wanted..
The breakfast was wonderful, a great way to start our day..
I should mention they do have another room, with a private bathroom..
the rates are good.. location excellent. and easy to find..

Room Tip: I think she only has 3 rooms.. one with a private bath, and the others share a bathroom. I never vi...

We had to change plans midstream due to hurricane preventing our trip to Newfoundland. They were very accommodating, We enjoyed our stay. Internet connection is very limited, mostly to just the living room. Owner was in hospital with heart problem, but her assistant was very helpful and nice. Enjoyed conversing with her. We felt at home here. Easy access to the Fortress.
