“what a dump!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

We were on bicycles so we ended up here because we were assured there was a convenience store, a nice restaurant close by and a duplex for the 3 of us. NOT! The "duplex" was a dump, tv didn't work, the WI-FI didn't work, they charged $10 to do 1 load of laundry on antique machines. The convenience store was the resort office and none of the refrigeration worked so no cold drinks. The front desk person left at 6pm so there wasn't even anyone to help with the problems. The restaurant we went to ended up being very expensive and the food was terrible. Do yourself a favor and skip this overpriced dump!

Room Tip: There were other hotels north of here that we wished we would have stayed at but on a bicycle once y...

No wonder I had a hard time finding the reviews on Tripadvisor on this accommodation. The surrounding of the cottages was very nice. I saw the interior of 2 units, including the one we stayed in, was very nice and extremely clean. All the cottages are not new but do not look dated either. All the supplies for the full kitchen look new/good condition. Beds were good. TV worked well. Excellent shower.
The couch cushions need to be replaced (the ones in unit 2 anyway).
Internet access was sporadic in the cottage. Excellent reception if you stand near the office.
All the staff is very nice and friendly.

I am a middle aged woman, who only requires clean and comfortable when I book an accommodation, and I have to say "this is the worst place I have ever stayed in". It was dingy and very uncomfortable. There wasn't even a chair to sit on. I felt dirty to the point of being afraid I would catch something.

Do your research, people, as I neglected to do, and avoid this accommodation at all costs. I will never made this kind of mistake again!

Room Tip: Use the trip adviser rating system...........good accommodations have a 3+ rating.

With so many lovely options on the Cabot Trail, skip this one. The only good thing was the view. The cabin smelled like garbage, had mold in the bathroom and the ceiling looked damp. Had I done my research prior (by using Tripadvisor) I could have avoided this place. It wouldn't take much of an investment to fix this place up into an amazing spot.. There is a deck off the back with a great view.

Stayed there overnight before our 3 Peaks Challenge and it was great! Had a BBQ and watched the sun shine off the waters... Enjoyed very much and would recommend this place to anyone!
