“Great chowder!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

This spot is where you will find the locals... and that says it all! Excellent! We also rented a cottage in the area and bought our seafood from them to cook at home. Excellent quality and value.

“Very slow service and average food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

While I am sure some will have a good experience here, we certainly did not. We were left waiting for menus until we waved, we ordered water and a beer and we finally took a sip after 25 minutes in the restaurant. (and only after we waved again to get them) The food was even slower. We were about to leave when it finally arrived. A lobster roll, while it was, reasonable, was very skimpy with the lobster. (the fries were good) I took the filling out of the roll and it barely made a mound the size of a small clementine... or a large egg. My husband ordered a lobster cold plate which arrived at the hatch from the kitchen a long time before mine... it sat there while servers either side chatted away over the top of his plate. When it came it was less than average.
The beer selection is awful. The atmosphere is cafeteria style, but this is not sold as fine dining, so no complaints there. While we tend to suffer in silence and show our opinion through no tips and not returning, other clients in the restaurant were showing their frustration with the painfully slow service a lot more vocally. I don't normally give bad reviews, but in this case it was so bad I just felt it needed to be done. The server we had was pleasant enough, but not particularly friendly and none of the three servers looked in any way happy, they were bickering behind the counter, showing no concern for their waiting clientele.
If you want to take the chance, go ahead, but my considered opinion would be to avoid this place and try somewhere else.

“Meh”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

Servers were nice, lobster and crab okay but other seafood orders in our party were ridiculously overcooked. Presentation of food is poor, atmosphere average at best. There are better around the area.

“The Best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

This was our last stop on the Trail, and we saved the best for last! My Lobster Roll was perfect and fresh, not dripping with mayonnaise......and my husbands oysters were gone in a flash! He had the sole special and it was so much delicious food! Just a perfect end to a perfect vacation. Recommended by locals, not fancy, but great service as well.
