“Lynwood Inn Cottage &Resturant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2011 via mobile

We stayed at the small cottage behind the Inn & really enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable & whatever we needed that wasn't available for us, was provided when asked. The service was friendly & being in the center of town was a bonus. The lobster special was delicious & at a good price as well. For the price & location ,I would choose this Inn again....hopefully next year for the Celtic Colors

Upon arriving in Baddeck NS on the CabotTrail, the decision of where to stay? The Lynwood was attractive and upon checking, the room rental rate was very favourable. Our room was spotless and included air conditioning, two Queen size beds, a spa tub and a small balcony.
Our initial booking was for one night, being more than pleased with the room
we booked an additional 4 nights and used Baddeck as a hub for day trips.
The Restaurant, featured indoor dining in a 'cozy' doning room and much to our delight ample seating outdoors on a Verandah. Great food of all types,
live entertainment in the evenings and the only negative comment ... the desserts were terrible.
With only one eveninbg left in our stay, plans changed. We had notice of a family accident elsewhere and had to cut our stay 1 day short. The office at the Lynwood was very accomadating and there was no penalty.
Next Cape Breton vacation the Lynwood will be home base.

We stayed here on our family vacation. Baddeck is a small town so there is not much choice for non-b&b accommodations. Lynwood was fine, the only thing that bugged me was the noise heard from other rooms, pretty thin walls. I was also woken up one night with the water dripping from the window a/c unit from the floor above onto our windowsill, only lasted 10 mins, but still annoying at 2am.

We visit Baddeck for 2 nights and find the Lynwood look very cozy..
Afther we had seen the rooms we took the Victorian room this was a nice and clean room and we had a good nights rest.
The restaurant had nice places outsite and there was live music but the serving was very bad we had to wait at least 20 min before someone of the restaurant react on our presents.
They were very un-frendly and afther ordering it took again 30 minits to get our drinks and foot. The quality and tast of the foot was also poor.
If you see the rooms its oke but service in the restaurant is bad you feel not welcom.

The room was much nicer than expected. Everything was very classy. The hotel was within walking distance of the town and the attractions. The restaurant on the property had a wide menu and excellent food.

This place at first glance looked very cozy and welcoming, so we decided to try out the restaurant. There was live music and places to sit outside. We stood waiting around for 10 minutes until someone decided to seat us. Once seated we waited 20 minutes for someone to ask us what we wanted to drink. It then took another 20 minutes to get them. The food came after and was average. Fries were cooked to a crisp. We asked for vinegar, which she brought when we were close to finishing our meal. We waited a long while once we were done to get the bill... we mentioned to her about the fries and she did absolutely nothing to help. Handed us our bill and left. Other tables had empty plates as well and were waiting... bussers were standing around doing nothing. I could not believe it!! Went to pay at the front of the restaurant inside.. asked if I could have my reciept and he said he needs the copy and would take a few minutes to make a photocopy. At this point we walked away and will never look back!

Dining and music on the porch is quite nice. Many rooms available; some decor updating might be in order. No elevator. Self-laundry. Coffee not available in the room. Scant towels. Shower is invigorating. Great light blocking curtains but additional sheers could provide more privacy from the road. Clean and comfortable. WiFi not available to all rooms. A/C somewhat noisy and close to the bed; however, there are large windows with screens for fresh air. Friendly front desk assistance and table service hit or miss. Walking distance to water/docks and main drag in town. Parking is free, just outside lodging. Location is key for getting onto the Cabot Trail.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony, table and chairs; these are limited.
