Owner description: At Cape Chignecto Provincial Park, towering 185-meter (600-foot) cliffs rise from the Bay of Fundy while the world’s highest tides lap at their base. Cape Chignecto is a 4,200-hectare natural environment park on a dramatic coastal peninsula. The park features 29 kilometres (18 miles) of pristine coastline, some of Nova Scotia’s most significant geological features, deep valleys, sheltered coves, rare plants, remnant old growth forest, scenic views, and a rich cultural heritage. We offer wilderness camping in secluded coves and ravines, while a spectacular coastal hiking trail leads visitors along high cliffs and deep valleys. Because Cape Chignecto is a wilderness hiking park, there are no drive-up camping sites.

“Fun backpacking trip with amazing views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

My husband and I backpacked 3/4 of the loop of Cape Chigneto for 4 days and 3 nights. It was great! The views are breathtaking, and we enjoyed the back-country experience with the perks (assigned camping areas, trail signs, outhouses and some picnic tables). We were hoping to complete the whole loop, but I think you really need 5 days to do that if you want to be able to stop and enjoy the views.

“Awsome hiking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

Stunning views of the coastline. 500foot cliffs that overlook the ocean. Challenging and demanding, I would recommend anyone attempting the coastal trail to allow 5 days to do it. My only peeve with this place is that the map that we had to purchase was flimsy and not correctly labeled. I strongly recommend that they improve on this feature. Another point I want to make is the front desk clerk had little clue to what ws going on, I wanted him to explain the trails in greater detail and write on the map any important details that might not be included. All that was said "call 911" little disconcertingly say the least. Even still this was amazing I recommend it to any hiker out there!

“Remote, wild and beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

This park is gorgeous, but very remote and hard to find. We got lost several times trying to find it. The road markings are not great, to say the least. I recommend stopping in Advocate Harbor and getting directions from a local before heading out.
