If Canada had a michelin star rating system, I reckon this would be a 2 starred place - minimum. All the guide books recommend this place but to be quite honest, I don't think they do it justice. To put it simply, if you come to Nova Scotia and like to eat out, you must come here.
The things that struck my wife and I most was the casual way the food was served, the simplistic charm of the room decor and the loud laughter of the hostess. This was in complete contrast to the food itself - cooking of the highest order. My wife's chicken was triumphed as the best chicken she's tasted - ever. At the back of the restaurant is a garden where they grow fruit and veg, at the front of the restaurant is the small harbour where the seafood/fish are brought in. A fantastic set up.
Upstairs there are 2 rooms - get one if you can, book early though. 2 reasons you need to get a room - first, the restaurant is a bit off the beaten track. Second, the breakfast in the morning is awesome.
We absolutely loved it.
