“Newfoundland hospitality at its very best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

My husband and I stayed for two nights at the Rolling Hills B&B, which is in the community of Dunfield, not far from Trinity. All the reviews are correct - the rooms are comfy, quiet, breakfasts are delicious and filling with lots of choices. Keep in mind that the house is about 130 years old - don't expect big rooms and bathrooms - what you do get is quiet, comfort and friendliness. We didn't see much of Margaret, but Ed checked in each night and regaled us with stories of the area. His home-made wine is quite delicious! We toured the area (Bonavista and Ellison to see the puffins) and even made the drive to the Dunfield light house - spectacular scenery. Didn't have time to look through the remains of the fort that is on that point of land. Ed seems to know everyone in the area and is high;ly regarded. This is a wonderful B&B - we would definitely return!

We enjoyed our stayed at this bed and breakfast. Ed and Margaret are welcoming and generous hosts; a wonderful example of Newfoundland hospitality. This is a great place to meet other travelers, in the evening, over a glass of wine kindly served by Ed. The house is clean and well kept. Margaret serves delicious breakfasts with her china dishes. We especially enjoyed the waffles and partridge berries. We highly recommend this B&B and would gladly visit again. Thankyou Ed and Margaret.

It is worth driving past Trinity to stay in this renovated old house (there is a photo album showing the entire reno project). The rooms aren't large but the beds are comfortable and the linens good quality. This house is well away from any busy roads so very quiet, even with the windows open. Ed & Marg are delightful hosts and had several suggestions on what to see in the area. The breakfast was very tasty and served on lovely china.

Wonderful stay at Ed and Marg's little blue house in Dunfield. A few minutes drive from lovely Trinity but away from the tourists in a very real and quaint Newfoundland town. The 130 year old house creaked a little but was charming and delightful. Marg served up an amazing breakfast. Ed served up some of his home made wine and stories. It was quiet and charming and their hospitality was wonderful. Recommend the Skerwink trail hike that Ed told us about in the area. Also, check out the local theatre troupe!

My friend and I stayed at the Rolling Hills for two nights at the start of June and it really was my favourite part of my trip to Newfoundland. Ed and Margaret were amazing hosts and made us feel right at home. With Ed's homemade wine, Margaret's hearty and tasty breakfasts and their advice on local things to see and do, they really went out of their way to accommodate us. They even lent me their car and gave me food out of their own fridge to cook for dinner one night! The rooms each had their own bathroom and were very clean and cute. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Margaret and Ed certainly know how to make you feel comfortable in their wonderful B&B! John and I enjoyed their many local stories of the history and people in the area. Ed's sense of humour while sharing a glass of his homemade wine in the evenings kept us entertained! Margaret made us some wonderful, hearty breakfasts , demonstrated the use of an ugly stick, and invited us to a "kitchen party" at the local school where we met friendly parents and students at an entertaining concert fundraiser. We hiked the amazing Skirlink Trail, checked out puffins, visited Trinity, drove up to Bonavista and were content to return to Dunfield at the end of each day.

Room Tip: The rooms were all welcoming with nice quilts on the comfortable beds. The room over the living room...
