“A wonderful Cottage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

We stayed for two nights at the Artisan Inn in Trinity. We had a 2 bedroom cottage for 2 couples. It had 2 bathrooms, was stocked very well with cooking utensils, glasses, towels etc. It had a deck with 4 large chairs overlooking the water. We were in Gover house. We did not see the other accommodations, but if they were like the one we had, they would be great. The Artisan Inn has a dining room where a continental breakfast is served. You can also order a hot breakfast for a small fee. Dinner is also served at the dining room nightly. You need to make reservations for dinner, and it is a fantastic dinner. There are 2 choices each night. We ate there both nights because it was so good. A fantastic cottage with everything you need. Will be back for sure and for a longer time!

What a great spot in a fabulous privince. We rented the Gover house for a few days. It was perfect. In fact, our group agreed that if we could change our agenda, we would add a day at the Artisan Inn. The food and service were also excellent. We cancelled a night out elsewhere to repeat a meal at the Artisan Inn. the lamb shanks were excellent, as was the pan fried cod dinner. Highly recommend this Inn!

Room Tip: Book early. This place fills up many months in advance. And plan for all sorts of weather conditions...

I stayed in room #7 on the second floor of the main inn. The staff was friendly and the room was well-appointed with more than I needed. Although Trinity is a pretty small town, the inn was well-located and a 10-15minute walk from anything you'd want to see.

Overall, a nice clean room with good service in a good location; I would stay here again.

Room Tip: 2nd floor, cove view, room #7 was great

Our experience at the Artisan Inn in Trinity Bay was so much fun. Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted and their outstanding hospitality began. The staff is so helpful and friendly and will help you to plan activities in the area, Our accommodations in The Campbell House and The Gover House were wonderful. They had beautiful linens and were immaculately clean.
Don't miss eating in the Twine Loft restaurant. The food was delicious and you can relax in the little room above the restaurant and enjoy a drink before or after dinner. Our entire visit to Heritage Trinity was special, with all the little brightly painted buildings and the history that comes wlth these buildings. You can enjoy the local theatre, historical boat trips and there are several great hikes close by. Staying at the Artisan Inn was icing on the cake!!!

Friends from Newfoundland and I stayed in the Cove Cottage (aka Blue House) on the bay. This is new construction in a charimg old style. 3 bedrooms upstairs, living room, dining area, fully outfitted kitchen. Deck overlooking the bay. So many amenities and thoughful touches: books, umbrella, binoculars, washer-dryer, toys, map, iPod dock, TV, free wireless Internet. Great beds with lots of plush pillows and blankets. Wonderful place to sleep, gather, eat, and relax. We had a delicious evening meal at Twine Loft next door, (part of the Inn complex. Make reservations as there are only two settings. Prefixe two main dish selections.) there are other B&B cabins where one has a room rather than a full house, with breakfast included. The staff/owners are so welcoming.

If your are touring Newfoundland, you must visit this exquisitely restored historic village of Trinity. A photographer's paradise and full of B&Bs. We had a lovely 5 course fixed menu meal at the Artisan Inn, which overlooks the water with a dockside patio where you can sit before and after your meal. The meal was wonderful, but in the Newfoundland tradition, rather bland for AMerican tastes. We had perfectly cooked cod and lamb. The bread pudding was spectacular and tasty. The town was originally a merchant town where the English who owned the shipping fleet for cod, set up their summer homes. Amazing that this town was restored the way it is. Comparable to Williamsburg, Virginia in some ways. As a side note, it is hard to find a good restaurant (outside of St John's) in Newfoundland, as the locals use the gas stations to buy prepared sandwiches, etc. So, this restaurant was a marvel really. What restaurants there are are mostly dissapointing, except for fish and chips. We only paid $39 Canadian each for the five course meal.

Room Tip: We did not stay at the bed and breakfast, but drove a long way to eat there.
