Owner description: At Marble Mountain, we’re known for our challenging terrain, abundance of snow and short lift lines. Our vertical drop is the highest of any ski area in Atlantic Canada. Nearby Corner Brook is the snowiest city in Canada. And Newfoundlanders are known for being the friendliest people in the world.

“We liked Steady Brook so much, we bought a house there!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2007

Over new year 2005/6, we went to Humber Valley Resort, about 10 km from Steady Brook. Having never skied before, we wanted somewhere to learn in relative safety and peace. Marble Mountain was perfect. It really is as quiet as they say, and I know some expert skiers who have been very complimentary about it too. It's not like a large European, or even Canadian resort, but it is a great place for winter sport. In addition Steady Brook is a summer holiday destination too, with too many activities to list. Suffice to say that if you have done many years in hot Meditteranean destinations, with beach and sea and pools, Then this is something completely different. It's the only place we have been in the world where we haven't cared about the weather at all. Anyway, we went back in summer 2006, and new year 2006/7, and bought a little house in Steady Brook as a base to travel round Newfoundland in general. That's how much we love it.

“Interesting place to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2005

Firstly it must be pointed out that Marble Mountain is more of a hill, with only 33 or so runs.
However for a few days of skiing or boarding it can be really good fun. The Corkscrew has to be one of the most fun runs I have done with its tight turns and great speed.
If you visit Marble make sure that you get in touch with the fantastic guys at Cycle Solutions in Steady Brook for a guided snow-shoe hike. We did this for 3 hours and had a brilliant day out. It was utterly exhausting!!
Flights from the UK to Deer Lake only take about 5.5 hours and Aestraus were giving free Bucks Fizz and rather nice Chardonnay throughout. The flight was only half full as well due to weight restrictions that meant you arrived very chilled out and relaxed.
All in we had a really good week - but please don't expect the Alps. There are no mountain restaurants and it doesn't take very long to get from top to bottom.
The local beer is great though!

“Where is everyone?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2005

I visited Marble Mountain for a week in March 05 and it was absolutely amazing! First and foremost, in 4 days of snowboarding there was never more than 4 people in line for the high speed quad. No exageration. I stayed at George's Mountain inn which gave us a well kept little cottage with fireplace and jacuzzi for a very reasonable price. It is definitely a good hill for those intermediate and above. Beginners probably wouldn't enjoy this hill as much. The terrain is challenging, and don't expect marshalls to keep you out of trouble. Use common sense to take advantage of the seemingly slack rules without getting yourself killed. If you're looking to find a great mountain away from the crowds then it doesn't get any better.

“Marble Mountain”

I live in Corner Brook, about a 20 min. drive to Marble Mountain. This resort is full of awesome terrain for all. If you have never came to here before, well you should the staff are excellent and the people are really friendly. So if you want a great getway come to Marble Mountain SKi resort.
