This is the kind of inn that you dream about. First class in every way. We were in room 14 in the Mansard House, a huge room with gorgeous views in 3 directions. Dinner was outstanding, with local produce and fresh fish, breakfast was equally wonderful. I wish we could find a guide that would help us find inns like this!

This is a great inn. It is professionally run, by a team of excellent folk in all regards. The location is wonderful, the rooms just as needed, the common rooms are lovely, the recommendations for whale watching (we were told to use Chris and Shawna at Sea of Whales "they will find whales for you" and they did - fantastic!) and and the restaurant really is absolutely excellent - aided by its ability to source from its own garden immediately next to the kitchen. We are all really looking forward to going back. Altogether an absolutely perfect place, in keeping with Newfoundland's welcoming spirit, and we are looking forward to an opportunity to return.

We stayed at the Fishers' Loft Inn for 2 nights and highly recommend it. The service, accomodation and food do not disappoint. The establishment meets the standards of a high quality inn anywhere. The view was truly wonderful and we were close to the terrific Skerwink trail. Trininty is lovely and is located in close (but not walkable) proximity. The food was very good, local ingredients where possible, fresh and with excellent preparation. The wine list had a good selection at a reasonable price point. We had poor weather during our stay and this definitely detracted from our enjoyment. If there was good weather, our stay would have been absolutely spectacular.

We have stayed in many places all over the world and I have to say that this Inn ranks near the top of our favorites. We had booked a room in the Hilltop building, but somehow ended in the Mansard house, room 14. Queen size bed. Windows on 3 sides of the room, most of which offered stunning views of the cove. The room was very spacious, and tastefully decorated. I peaked in to room 13 while it was being cleaned for new guests and it too looked lovely. The food in the restaurant is excellent. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The extra touches are a treat....flashlights, umbrellas and walking sticks in the rooms, trail mix in the welcome information tray, bikes available on request, and they are happy to deliver complimentary coffee to your room in the mornings if you are having breakfast at the inn. There is lots happening in the immediate vicinity. We walked the Skerwink trail one morning. Spent almost a full day in Trinity, taking in the historical walking tour (excellent and only $10per person for a 2 1/2 hour tour), the theatre, the craft shops
and the museums. We popped up to Bonaventure for a couple of hours. If you are in to
whale watching, you can do that as well. All in all, if you enjoy a vacation that is close to nature but has the amenities of fine dining, comfortably luxurious accommodations, and lots to do in the immediate area, you will love this inn!

Luxury accomodations, warmest of staff and - it's "OK "to get really casual. I stayed here about twelve years ago and returned to find it just as lovely and welcoming. My daughter and I walked the trails in pouring rain and returned to the perfect comfort of a hot shower and a warm glass of Brandy in the lounge. I'm an early riser, so kitchen staff provided a thermos of coffee before bedtime that was still hot in the morning; perfect to take along on pre-dawn excursions. This is a great base for exploring the rest of the Island. Prices are within the range expected for this excellent rating. With breakfast and dinner added, It's complete. There is no place on earth quite like Newfoundland. You gotta see it!

Room Tip: Beautiful simplicity. Saw a whale from our window.

We came when the inn was just opening for the season. The views from everywhere were wonderful. the beds were so cozy and the rooms really comfortable. There were flashlights and walking sticks and umbrellas in the rooms. there was a library with lots of books on local things, nature, rocks, etc. The food was so wonderful. We've never had better food. It was our first time ever hearing of salt flakes, how fun! All of the buildings are prefect. we can't wait to come back and see the garden grown in, the fences were very cool around it. There is even a little gift shop here. They also recommended really fun trips and know all of the people running them. They even shooed us out so we wouldn't be late for the boat trip.

Room Tip: they let us look at all the available rooms to see them. they were all great. didn't want to g...
