“Fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2010

We stayed at Jeannie's for a night while waiting on the Northern Peninsula to take the ferry to Labrador. It is a lovely, clean, comfortable home and Jeannie is so friendly and welcoming. I would recommend it to anyone. The only thing I didn't enjoy was having to eat breakfast with strangers at a large table in the morning, although the meal itself was fabulous. I've never stayed in a B&B before so perhaps that is customary but it came as a surprise to me. Its still the best place to stay on that part of the Northern Peninsula though and I would stay there again anytime I was in the area.

Jeannie Sunrise Bed & Breakfast was the perfect place to stay. I stayed for one night with my parents and my boyfriend and Jeannie made us feel so welcomed. She greeted us at the door with a smile, showed us our beautiful rooms and large private bathroom. What a lovely, clean home! The beds were comfortable and the rooms were spotless. I also loved her colour scheme of her house - modern and welcoming. The next morning, Jeannie prepared the most amazing breakfast with a wide variety of fresh homemade jams! She provided a menu to choose from and gave us delicious partridge berry muffins while we waited. We were all incredibly impressed with level of service and hospitality that Jeannie showed us. Will definitely come back and would recommend this place to anyone!

Port au Choix is about half way up the Northern Peninsula. The surrounding beauty cannot be adequately described. You have to see it to believe it. But there are not a lot of places to stay. Jeannie's is a true find. This ultra clean home is bright and cheerful which matches Jeannie's personality. She greeted us at the door and made us (wife and grandson) feel completely at home. The room with private bath was clean, large, and beds comfortable. Outside we had living room shared with one other room. The breakfast which had menu choices was the best we had in Newfoundland . We had the good fortune to stay here twice on our way to and from Lanse au Meadows. TIP: make your reservation early.

After spending one night in a B & B where the TV was in the main sitting/common area it was a pleasure to watch shrimp boats heading out in the evening and not hear the blare of a hockey game in the background. Had more than enough to eat, and can't really say we noticed an overly fishy smell in the vicinity. Would definitely stay here again.

A very nice B&B. Clean & comfortable. Location is petty good, but there is a slight fish smell outside (not inside at all) as it is across from the fish processing plant. We opened the window to get some fresh air & had to shut it quickly.

We felt that the breakfast (1 egg, 2 toast, bacon, no potatoes, etc) was small and when we left, we had to get more food elsewhere.

Wifi was a welcome touch.

Very friendly. We would reccommend. Would be nice if there was a little more for breakfast. Perhaps add a bowl of apples, or cold cereal as well as the other items.

Jeannie's was the best B&B we stayed in through out a 3 week trip. Jeannie met us at the door with a heartfelt handshake. She welcomed us into her home with open arms. We were invited to use her computer to access our email. Our daughter needed to order text books for her college classes, so this was such a huge help. Jeannie's is exceptionally clean and comfortable. When we sat down to breakfast, we were handed a menu with 3 complete breakfast choices. It was so nice. Jeannie truly loves running this B&B. What a wonderful host. Debbie, Gordon and Raychel

We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage and loved it even though we only needed one bed. One of best stays we had on a 5 week trip.

We highly recommend Jeannie's as a place to stay, for the excellent breakfast with homemade jams and for the hospitality.
