“Would highly recommend for families, couples...everybody”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

My family and I truly enjoyed the Acadian village. The staff were really dedicated and gave detailed explanations of how people used to live in the Acadian village. It was very impressive to see them work like people used to work in the old days. It is also an enjoyable place with young kids. There are many animals to observe and touch. There is also a cariole that can carry you from site to site. We had no issues putting our stroller inside the cariole. We also enjoyed eating at the restaurant were they served typical Acadian food. It might seem a bit overpriced but after a few hours of walking it was enjoyable.

“World class experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

We recently visited Acadian Historical Village and found it to be a unique and wonderful experience. It isn't commercialized or full of marketing hype such as you would find at Disney World, but consists of very accommodating and friendly employees, dressed in period costume, that are actually performing rather than acting. The cedar shingle maker, for example, is doing just that. Each house has one or more women who are cooking simple Acadian food, from products raised in the village, for the other employees. The buildings for the most part are original Acadian buildings. The village restaurant serves actual Acadian meals.

The keeper of the hotel was particularly pleasant and accommodating. He even went so far as to take us for a ride in the hotel's 1925 Model T.

This is one of the finest tourist attractions we ever have visited!

“Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

My husband and I spent over 4 hours there last week and it is a wonderful place to visit. It was a very hot day but we were enjoying ourselves so much that it didn't really bother us.There were lots of places to sit down and relax around the village or to get a cold drink. It is a french speaking village but they switched to english and told us the history of their home or business without any problem. We also picked up bread they we had seen raising that they cook on an outside oven.Delicious.

“Acadien life 1780 to 1950”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Well done attraction with the majority of buildings authentically restored. Most are staffed with relatives of the original owners. The demonstrate daily life of the periods they represent. Bread baking, quilt making, cooking, blacksmith, tinsmith, shingle maker, etc... Fascinating for all ages. I highly recommend it.

“History lesson for the non history buff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

This is a major cultural lesson. See how they survived and lived in the area since 1760. Is full costume and authentic buildings, tools, and environment. Well worth the $17.5 per adult. Be suet peat the pea soup and bread pudding, both are great. Also buy some of the bread they sell, which is made in an old fi oven. Bet prepared to spend 4-6 hours there, all walking.
