From the outside, this delightful bistro does not suggest dining excellence unless an unobstructed view of the parking lot appeals to you. Inside, however, the decor is warm and inviting, with ample-sized booths, and tables separated enough that conversation is possible. The wine list is good and fairly priced. Our meals were extremely good, the best that we've had over our several trips to the Comox-Courtenay area. The starter salad, with very fresh greens and beetroot curls, came with a maple vinaigrette dressing, which was unusual but tasty. Our group had a mix of entrees, all excellent, including wild salmon with crisp veggies, a curried vegetable bowl that was seasoned just right and the vegetables firm, and a coq au vin served with spaetlze, hiding in the menu in the "pasta" selection. The Avenue will be our first choice on our next trip.
