My husband and my 2 children (19 & 12) went on the grizzly bear tour on July 11, 2013 with Tide Rip, and it was one of the most amazing experiences of our lives. It's hard to find the words to describe how amazing it was. We saw 2 grizzly mama bears, each with their 2 cubs. Our guides, Daryl and Pascal, were so friendly and knowledgeable about the surroundings and wildlife. They were patient in letting us share the lives of these bears, and we started to feel a real connection to the bears while they lifted rocks looking for tasty shell fish. We saw bald eagles, Dall's porpoise, humpback whales, deer, and other wildlife during our trip. They were 4 other passengers, and it was a nice, intimate group. We stayed very quiet while viewing the bears, so we wouldn't disturb them. We heard the call of eagles, thrushes, and other birds and felt a connection with nature. I didn't want the day to end, and I couldn't stop thinking about how special this trip was, unlike any other type of trip I have taken. I highly recommend doing this, and the people at Tide Rip are all excellent at knowing what they do! Also, stay at Telegraph Cove to be walking distance and enjoy the little wharf setting.
