This was the second destination during our 4 week skiing adventure of Canada. We booked a standard room, but upon check-in we found that we were given a room with 2 double beds. Not impressed as we had requested a king bed (a married couple with no children shouldn't have to be squashed in a room with 2 beds). The check-in staff managed to find us a room with a king bed for the week. Once we walked for 10 minutes to our room we heard a "thump, thump, thump" noise, only to discover that they put us in the room which is directly next to the pub next door. This was only lunch time and we thought it would get progressively worse. We politely complained to the front desk that we weren't advised of its location and before you knew it we were upgraded to the Signature Club on the 5th floor. All I can say is - ABSOLUTELY fabulous. The view of the mountain from our room, complimentary breakfast, evening nibbles and internet access was well worth the complaint. For all guests, there is a complimentary ski storage service in the lower ground floor, so there is no need to take your skis back to the room. Also, the hotel is totally ski-in and out (fantastic!!). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and highly recommend Sun Peaks as a skiing destination and we would gladly stay at the Delta Sun Peaks and would pay extra for the Signature Club (otherwise breakfast and internet is extra (its expensive), and would probably work out to be the same cost). The only thing we were disappointed about - some of the guests were very rude and dirty (this cannot be helped, but you would think people would behave better) and the fact that the hotel is "dog/pet" friendly - this is something that we are not used to in Australia and we don't particularly like dogs staying in hotel rooms. Overall, highly recommended and we would go back there again!!

My husband and I and our two teens stayed at the Delta from Jan 28 to Feb 3, 2009. Our drive to Sunpeaks was over 10 hours coming from Alberta so it was nice to finally get checked in to the hotel and see what it was like. The hotel is right smack in the middle of the resort and just perfect for ski in ski out. Our room was a one bedroom suite which worked out great for alittle privacy and to have the extra room. There are two tv's in the room which is nice and the bathroom has a door to each side of the suite. There is a beverage cooler in the room but we had broughtour cooler with us and kept most of the stuff on the balcony that overlooked the sundance and sunburst chairlift. We could watch people skiing while sitting on our balcony having a beer which was very cool. I also had called ahead of time and requested a microwave which was put in our room at no extra charge. There were a couple of concerns with garbage on the floor of our room when we first got there and the sofabed was terribly uncomfortable for my daughter. The concerns were mentioned to Katie at the front desk the first morning and were taken care of right away. We were given a mattress for her to sleep on and Katie gave us all a free breakfast buffet for the troubles. The maid even made the bedding on my sons air mattressbrought for him. There is a fitness room and also three hottubs and a heated pool. I would have liked to enjoy the steam room even once but it was out of order the entire time we were there and I was disappointed about that. I used the sauna once but it never got that hot. The resort has a small village with very expensive shops and restaurants. We ordered pizza from the pizza place which was very good and ate at chopstix which was just ok. I have to mention though that the restaurant inside the Delta is great. There is a particular breakfast item that was made by chef Jamie Wilson. They called it french toast but this was actually bread pudding to die for. I could have some right now thinking about it. The second day we went down for breakfast it was not there and they just had regular french toast. Chef Jamie heard us talking and actually offerred to make us some special for our table. We didn't want to be a bother so we just took the french toast that was there. A few minutes later chef Jamie comes over to our table with a plate of this fabulous bread pudding he calls french toast. No, it is not part of any good for you diet but who cares when you're on vacation. This really reminded me of the level of service we got when we stayed at a Ritz hotel this past summer. The skiing was great. It didn't look like the pictures though that show soo much snow covered trees but it did snow while we were there. I did read that the hotel has ski valet that warm your boots but no they don't and when I asked about it, the ski valet actually laughed at the question. The only other problem we had was noise one night which sounded like it was coming from somewhere above us. It was terrible and made it very hard to sleep. I called down but nobody came up to the room to check so my husband had to go down and bring someone up to hear it for themselves. It ended up being the cleaner for the pool which was jammed and our room was overlooking the pool. The next night I had to call down at 4am for them to shut the pool music off. While at the hotel we had massages. The hotel has flyers for Uli's mountain massage which was fabulous. Uli is a RMT and does mobile massage so she sets up her massage table in your room. Our one bedroom worked well for that and was great after a day on the hill. I would stay here again, maybe in a different room not so close to the pool. There are many other places to stay but I like the comforts of a four diamond hotel and the location of the property is just fantastic.

We just returned from a great weekend at this hotel in Sun Peaks. What a terrific resort! The arrival/check-in process was easy. Front desk staff very welcoming and accommodating.
Our room was a standard king. While we really didn’t have any sort of ‘view’, the room was quite large and very well designed with lots of storage for our winter outerwear along with ski gear. (Except for skis which were kept in the ski locker area.) One thing I always look for is a clean bathroom --- and this one was definitely spotless!
The staff at the hotel was exceptional! All were extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure that we were happy. Special mention goes to Chef David (Mantles restaurant) who was very attentive.
We will definitely return!

We honestly had never heard of Sun Peaks before this visit. We were on our way from Jasper to Vancouver, and chose Delta Sun Peaks Resort for the scenery rather than go to Kamloops and stay in a standard hotel.

Glad we did. Reasons:

1. CLEANLINESS: The hotel seems almost brand new---we felt like we were the first guests to visit. Lobby was sparkling clean as was the elevator and the room.

2. ROOM: Very comfortable with nice views of the village and mountains. The beds were quite comfortable, and the HDTV got a great variety of stations in many languages from around the globe.

3. BREAKFAST BUFFET: Good selection of meats, yogurts, cereals, pastries and fruits. The dining area is fairly large and upscale-appearing.

4. VILLAGE AREA: We found several good restaurants and even a small convenience store within walking distance. The only thing I couldn't find was a gas station.

5. SKIING: I was there before ski season, but it looked like an incredible place to visit for a wintertime vacation.

6. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Everyone was attentive and helpful.

7. VALUE: I got a great deal on this hotel thru hotels.com. It was worth every penny!

Will stay again if I'm in the area!

this resort is outstanding. stayed for two nights and didn't want to leave, just loved it. our room was large modern and well appointed with super comfortable beds. the staff were wonderful and nothing was to much trouble. the village was quiet and we went for a gondola ride up the mountain, walked through the wild flowers and saw heaps of wildlife. the resturant and lounge have great food at a great price. heaps of parking and beautiful scenery from our balcony. this hotel was the highlight of our 3 week trip. can't wait to return. if you are thinking of just staying in sun peaks for one night as a stopover on your journey to the rockies, please stay an extra night as the place has heaps to offer
