“A Pleasant Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

My wife and I spent six days at Takahashi Gardens. We found the accomodations quite pleasing. Our rooms were pleasantly situated on the waterfront, with a great view of the mountains across the bay. The owner/site operator, Elaine, was very gracious and easy to deal with. We would stay there again if we were to return to the area.

Room Tip: Go for one of the two waterfront accomodations.

We went up to Sechelt for some much needed R&R and were lured in by the photos of Takahashi Gardens. I'm a picky traveler and what we found was better than the pictures! The views are truly amazing, hypnotic and relaxing. Elaine is terrific. She has thought about every little detail, and is a great resource on where to go, places to eat and things to do in the area. Takehashi Gardens is thoughtfully designed, spotlessly clean and filled with delightful little surprises like handmade soap and a tin of delicious cookies! We'll be back!

This was our "end of season" weekend get-away before the colder weather sets in for the Vancouver region. We could not have chosen a more lovely, comfortable and simple gorgeous location. I can't recommemend Takahashi Gardens enough. Elaine, the proprietor, is a lovely person sincerely interested in your comfort. The UMI suite is prisine in condition and cleanliness, but it's the view that I found to be the real treasure. The simple placement of a hot tub - deck facing the inlet is just perfect for enjoying the most beautiful coast view you can imagine. It is truly hypnotic. Sechelt is a sleepy, relaxed town, so this is somewhere you go to totally unwind. I recommend you look for the Fish n Chips food truck up by Davis Bay, more affordable than the local restaurants, and you can't beat sitting by the beach enjoying your lunch! Also, I recommend, if you are interested in aquiring local aboriginal art of quality, that you drop in to Coast Raven Design Studio, it was amazing! Be sure to stop in Gibsons to Molly's Reach for another Fish n Chips Indulgence and to see the site of our famous Canadian TV icon "The Beachcombers". So cool! (even if it doesn't sound interesting, just wait till you get there, what a cool little town!) We'll be back, next time to ride up the coast further....amazing, must-see, must- do Canadian location.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Umi suite, was wonderful. Everything you could need, you really could stay there fo...

It was a great location, and the host was amazingly friendly, and helpful. The rooms were clean and well equipped with everything we needed to feel comfortable. It was so nice, to sit in our private hot tub and look out at the inlet

We spent a wonderful weekend at the Takahashi gardens in mid August. We were pleasantly surprised to find how secluded and peaceful it was, yet so close to everything. Elaine pays attention to all the small details, is there for anything you may need and overall is a great host. It really was nice having the coffee maker ready, AC unit, TV, kimono's and everything else needed to be comfortable in a very clean cottage. We really can't wait to go back and highly recommend it for anyone else looking for peace and tranquility!

Takahashi Gardens is an absolutely lovely retreat. Elaine is a wonderful and charming hostess from the moment she greets you and always accomodating. She has given all her rooms great
attention to detail with a tasteful Asian flair. Everything is first class - very relaxing with comfortable beds and luxurious towels, beautifully landscaped, spotlessly clean and an extra bonus with a private hottub for each room overlooking an oceanic view. We were very impressed with this retreat and look forward to returning.

After reading all the good reviews, I already had an expectation of what the Takahashi Gardens would be like. When we got there, it was even better than what I expected! The place was setup so well and we love every detail and thought that Elaine put in it. The view from the patio (we stayed in the Yama suite) is spectacular. We loved our own private hot tub overlooking the beach. Truly a beautiful view. The two deck chairs in the patio is nice to sit on and just relax. The suite is well equipped with everything you need. kitchen and bathroom had everything! The sundeck was perfect for suntanning in the daytime and watching the starts in the nighttime. She has a good collection of dvds, and board games for entertainment, as well asTV, wifi, ipod dock. The hostess, Elaine is very helpful! She even helped us with our itinerary, and we were able to go on a boat tour for a discounted price! The best little surprise that I saw was the makeup removers in the bathroom! i also loved that there were candles! Everything else was great, the handmade soaps, kimono robes, king bed, and the little treats like cookies, tea, coffee, and popcorn! I cannot express how much we truly enjoyed our stay. It was lovely and we really had a wonderful weekend staying at Takahashi Gardens!

Thank you, Elaine!
