“Perfect Place to Stay in Port McNeill!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2011

We stayed At Water’s Edge for 3 nights over the course of 6 days – with a 2 night kayak trip from Telegraph Cove in the middle. Karen & Chris (superb hosts) easily worked around our “in & out” schedule – allowing us to stow our luggage while we were out kayaking and coordinating breakfasts for us at terribly early hours. Both are wonderfully warm and enjoyable folks – plus Karen makes a terrific breakfast!

The B&B consists of 2 levels – with the lower level containing guest rooms that overlook STUNNING Broughton Strait – and the upper level providing a central eating area (with even more stunning views) as well as the residence for Karen and Chris. At Water’s Edge is clean, bright, comfortable, and simply a delightful place to stay (wish we could have stayed another few days). Highly recommended!

Port McNeill itself is more of a working town and not much of a tourist destination; however, it’s a good base for activities out of Telegraph Cove, Alert Bay, or points north. We had 2 tasty (and huge) meals at Northern Lights just up the road from the B&B.

This was a jewel in our holiday!.
At waters Edge was exactly what we needed, it was right on the water with lovely views. There is a large area to sit out either just outside your room or in the garden or even on the beech.
room was absolutley spottlessley clean and very comfy with all you need.
Karen and Chris are great hosts and wow! what a great breakfast, you go upstairs to their house and sit at al ovely big table with more amazing views, we will highly reccomend At waters edge and in fact already have!.
Good location for Telegraph Cove and the ferry at Port Hardy.

Karen gave us really good picnic breakfast for our early start, Thank you.

At Waters Edge is a cozy and wunderful B&B with a stunning view over Broughton Strait. The rooms are optimally endowed and all have beach access and a covered sun deck. By opening the doors you have the BC wildlife directly in front of you, such as Black Bears, Whales and Bald Eagles. Karen and Chris, the hosts, are very helpfull with planing adventure trips or ferry rides and give interesting and entertaining stories about the local wildlife. The breakfast is delicious and consists of a large variety. It's simply a place to enjoy!

A simple and cheerful B&B with congenial and helpful hosts. Each room has its own entrance and deck chairs where you can enjoy watching the boats and water birds. It was very, very peaceful and quiet.

We stayed here for one night before a kayaking trip. The place was beautiful and the welcome warm. We could not fault the room, it was clean, bright, with views out onto the beach, a great ensuite bathroom and came complete with a private entrance. We decided to walk along the beach for dinner at a restaurant recommended by our hosts and were accompanied on that trip by a bald eagle! Breakfast was pre-ordered on arrival and it was great to have the perfect balance of hot and cold food before heading out on to the water. Would not hesitate to stay here if I ever make it up to Port McNeill again.

Karen and Chris were nice hosts. Nice location on the pebble beach with view of the calm water. Rooms very small, thin walls and squeaky bed. If you're after seclusion for a romantic weekend then this may not be the place to go. We were looking for a clean well maintained reasonably priced place to rest our heads after sightseeing. Mini fridge in our room wasn't working but Karen and Chris quickly fixed or replaced it. Breakfast was fresh and delicious expertly prepared by Karen. Free wifi access.
