It was the main reason to go to the North of the island, to see whales and preferably Orca. They had not been seen in the area so far this year. We were greeted really well by the captain and his lovely and extremely knowledgeable daughter. We shared the experience with just 10 other people from all over the world. The boat was very spacious and comfortable. About 1 hour into our trip to the east we sighted a group of 5-6 transient Orca chasing down a dolphin. It was the most amazing chase with spectacular action and photo opportunities. The dolphin was caught and we did not get too close to see the kill. Later we saw 2 humpbacks, harbour seals, dolphins and many eagles and to top it all on the way back an obliging black bear trundled along the sea shore. It was a day to remember with great informative canadian hospitality including lunch of excellent soup. Thank you so much.
