Rowenas Inn is a small B&B wich compares to the best Hotels.
On arrival for our one night stopover we were greated by Betty Ann the proprietor of the inn and beautiful adjacent Sandpiper Golf course.
After a few miles of un-interesting drive from the Ferry from Victoria we were amazed by the tranquil setting overlooking the River.
The Inn has only a few rooms but all of them are exquisitley furnished with Antiques and family momentos and photographs. Betty Ann is daughter of an original Homesteader who made his money Logging in the area and built the lodge (he lived to 102 yrs). She showed us arround the lodge and was very atentive, we ate at the adjacent riverside restaurant.
They have an Airstrip and a Boat dock as well as easy road access.
All in all this has been the Highlight of our accomodation on a 3 week round trip from Calgary to Victoria and the one we WILL remember !

Rowena's Inn is everything you would hope for (and more!) when staying at a Bed and Breakfast. The landscape is beautiful with the inn next to the river, nestled between mountains. The Sandpiper Golf Club is right next door, in fact they share a parking lot. Also on the property is a restaurant, The River's Edge.

We came for an overnight Christmas party for my work.

Check in was quick- "Tracey" is an asset to the Inn; she greeted us immediately and whisked us upstairs to our room, "Ivan's Room". Beautiful, immaculate, and there's even a little vanity and sink at one end of the room. We shared a good-sized, very clean and fresh bathroom with one other room. I thought it would be awkward, but it wasn't. There was soft music playing being piped in through the headboard! and there was a small bottle of wine, a plate of cheese and fruit and a bowl of crackers waiting for us. The bed was amazingly comfortable - so much so that we realized how awful ours at home is!

The boss rented a cabin so we got see what it was like - so lovely! Wood-burning fireplace, heated slate floors, a huge bathtub, massive bed, plus a seating area and a table if you felt you needed it.

I found the rooms in the Inn to be "quaint" with antique furnishings, and the cabin was more modern. Both were gorgeous, it just depends on what you prefer.

We dined at the River's Edge Restaurant and were served the best prime rib I have ever had, along with a very good yorkshire pudding. Service was good.

I slept like a baby and went downstairs to breakfast. Oh my goodness, what a spread! Start with fruit, yogurt, granola & muffins, along with coffee and delicious orange juice. Then came breakfast! Eggs benedict with freshly-made hollandaise sauce with homestyle hashbrowns - yum!!

I would highly recommend this B&B for couples as well as companies. It would even be fun just to get a few friends up there and rent cabins. We will be back, come springtime probably, as we'd like to experience another season at Rowena's Inn.
