“Great patio for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

We always enjoy coming to the patio at Silva Bay for lunch. We enjoy sitting outside looking out over the marina and sharing a salad and calamari. Looking forward to enjoying it again this summer!

“Nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2014

We went there on recommendation from our B&B hostess. The food was very good, but they had obviously given our reserved table away to some other party and had to scramble to get us a table. It was in the middle of the restaurant instead of at the window, so we couldn't see the marina as well as I'd hoped.

But they had just opened, it was their first night with live music, I think, so I'm guessing they'll get better with that with more experience.

Otherwise, the food was delicious and the service was very friendly!

“great expectations”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

...sadly not met. a tad depressing and a little worrying to boat in here expecting a port of refuge, a pub, a store, a restaurent...pretty much as advertised, sadly no, it's all shut. ok, ok, I know its January, but when you said "open year round" we thought you meant it. Thank goodness for Graham, who gave us a lift all the way to the other end of the island to get provisions, and after a beer and the best panini ever in Mad Rona's, gave us a lift back. such a unique boating heaven, what a shame.

“Out of business”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2014

After many years of trying to make a financial go of it at the south end of Gabriola, where traffic is very light except during the boating season, the owners finally had to throw in the towel. Everything was great, food, service, prices and the view from the patio deck with a cold beer is fabulous. It will be missed.

“Good meals”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

This time meals were from an island land tour, I have also used the Silva Bay Restaurant having used their fine marina facilities. The service was excellent. Reservations were not possible as it was late in the day on Thanksgiving weekend. However, it was suggested we arrive after 7 pm with the likelihood of being easily seated. And we were. We opted for their evening special, turkey dinner. It was tasty. The portions generous. Previous encounters had the same result: happy greetings with good food.
