“Goats, Bakery, Gluten Free and more!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013

Well... Coombs Old Country Market is a special place. From the outside it's old building with a grass roof and oh yes, goats on top of said roof. On the inside it's an eclectic market, bakery and old school cafeteria. There's a little something for everyone in the market ranging from locally produced soup in a bag and raw fireweed honey to bacon flavored salt, organic olive oil, an entire gluten free section, pottery painting supplies.... well you get the point.

This bakery is world class with a wide assortment of delicious looking breads, desserts and other goodies.

This is one destination not to miss.

“Goats and shopping fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

This area has grass covered roofs that goats roam around on. The market has a good selection of interesting things to choose from - local and otherwise. All around the market are several other shops and a restaurant that are all worth a visit too. If you are in the area it is worthwhile stopping by.

“Well, there are "goats on the roof"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

This is a country market with foodstuffs and knickknacks from around the world. It encompasses multiple outbuildings. It has a pretty impressive imported cheese list, Danish, French, English cheeses, as well as the local product.

They have a cafeteria but this is not the highlight of the place.

They seem to have a "gimmick" to attract people - live goats living on the roof. It's cute and they have all the touristy tschotskes for sale.

If I was a local to the area, I would be a regular here. Foodstuffs that you can't find at a regular grocery store. They have some surprising cool stuff.

Outbuildings include a fruit vegetable stand, ice cream stand and other offering from local artisans.

Nice place to stumble upon however if you are short of time, you can skip and it won't be much of a loss.

“Real tourist destination”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

The Old country market used to be an awesome meeting place for people travelling or local. But it has been built up and though they still have the same concept as years ago, it is much much larger, the café is very changed from years ago, where you felt that you were eating in a little country café. Now you can just feel the bucks passing by and that seems to be the goal for this place now. What a shame. As far as goats on the roof, adults are kidding themselves if they think its great for the kids.

“too crowded!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

I am very happy for all of the merchants in this whole attraction (Old Country Market and all of their fellow vendors) - it is an extremely busy place! The Old Country Market is way too overcrowded, both in terms of space per product and in terms of numbers of people/customers. The Market needs to expand - you can barely move around in there causing many customers to be very grumpy! I have been going to the Old Country Market for years and years because they have a large and diverse assortment of goods, but now I just go in and get what I came for and no longer bother to look around (and buy more than what I came for) - I just want in and out - way too crowded!
