Our stay at Thyme Away was very pleasant. The hosts were friendly and unobtrusive, the food was excellent (great pancakes!) and I could have spent all day in the pool.

The serenity and ambiance of this setting and location is like being transported to another planet. Barbara and Marcelle Laplante are absolute charmers, which redefines the meaning of hostess and host. They are also endowed with a wealth of information relating to Coombs and the neighboring communities. We found the "Thyme Away" by accident because the road signs on the highway are easy to miss, so watch out because it would be sad not to find this place. Tucked away from the highway the "Thyme Away" offers two real quite rooms upstairs in the main house. You will awake in the morning with a view down at the peacefully grazing Alpacas and deers. Barb's delicious breakfast is the perfect start into a day full of action while exploring the Horne lake Caves or full of relaxation on the beach. Be prepared for the caves: you will get muddy and wet depending on the tour you choose. There are also two easy caves for self exploring (no charge) where you just need to bring a torch light, TWO torch lights, actually. After a great day out, our hosts invited us for a cup of tea and we had a great conversation with them. We also liked the atmosphere in the house, it's so full of light with its large windows. Barb and Marcel are easy-going and very helpful hosts.
