“Pros - lots on menu. Cons -lots on menu”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Recently stayed in Blue River on trip to BC from Edmonton and stayed at Sandman Hotel. Restaurant was attached so we decided to try. Nice little pub style restaurant. No draft beer but this is a very tiny community so you put up with minor inconvieniences. The menu had so many items it was hard to decide. They were reasonably priced. Portion size was very good as my wife and I had trouble finishing what we ordered. My pasta and meat sauce was good. Not great but good and tasty. My wife ordered the beef dip. Not great but she didn't complain too much. The beef tasted kind of like it was cooked days before and then reheated. This is where the restaurant falls short in my opinion. With so many items on the menu, how can they do an excellent job on cookingk so many differ things? I think they spread themselves too thin trying to do so manly dishes that they lose the quality. The items the do do are OK but what if they concentrated on fewer specialty items? They could possibly be great. We would eat there again but we would be a little more selective on items making sure they would be lof the fresh cooked variety.

“Good food, reasonable prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

Family style restaurant, friendly staff, reasonable prices and good food. Wines are inexpensive. Try the taco salad if you want some fresh, crunchy veggies.

“Convenient dinner stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

On an overnight stop in Blue Rive we had dinner here. Menu was varied and food was very good. I noticed that a bus tour group from Richmond had just stopped here for dinner so I thought it must be good, and it was!

“Overpriced, small servings”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012

We had the hot hamb sand, was spicy and mushy old vegies mixed with underdone carrots. The eggs benny for breakie was old , cold hashbrowns with coddled egg undercooked. The coffee was horrible. Dessert was so small, just a sliver for the price of 3. We will not eat there again.
