Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Best Western Wayside Inn while in Wetaskiwin. We appreciate our guest's feedback and use this information in our efforts to create a great guest experience. I am glad that you enjoyed O'Brian's restaurant and Barney's Pub & Grill. We are quite proud of the recent renovations in both of those spaces.
Thank-you again for choosing to stay at our hotel and I hope we have the opportunity to see you again.

Stopped over on a whim while our way to Kananaskis Country, glad we did!
Check in was great , the bed and room were small but very clean.
In the AM we had breakfast at thier restaurant, service was great and the breakfast was great value for your money. Check out was a different story, we waited for the clerk to finish an extended personal phone call before she would assist us. What ever happened to muti-tasking?
This was the only issue with our stay.

This is a very good hotel for business travel. The rooms are small, but modern and well designed. Service is friendly and personal - the staff went out of their way to make our week-long stay comfortable, to provide everything we needed for our meetings, etc. And after long workdays, it's great to have a restaurant and bar onsite, especially since pretty much every place in downtown Wetaskiwin closes at 8 p.m.

Why four stars and not five? Breakfast is served from 6:30 and service is very friendly, but there aren't many light and healthy options on the menu, and everything happens at a very... leisurely pace. Beds are relatively new, but not super comfortable. And... did I mention the rooms are small? Fine for one person; a bit cramped for two or more.

Thank-you for taking the time to review our property. We appreciate our guest feedback, and use that feedback in our efforts to create a great experience for all of our guests. Your thoughts on our breakfast selections are greatly appreciated. Our chefs are putting together a new breakfast menu that better reflects today's active guest's request for healthier selections. I am hoping that we have that in place within the month. Thank-you again for your feedback and I hope that we have the opportunity to have you as our guest again soon.

Breakfast restaurant has fresh ground coffee - beans are ground for each coffee pot - a very nice touch. Good food too although no complimentary breakfast.
Pub/restaurant has great food, excellent staff - they even went out a purchased a crib board when asked if they had one. Now THAT'S service.
Nicely appointed rooms, very friendly staff.
A little pricey at regular rate but overall a very pleasant stay.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2009

I booked 2 rooms, one with a king bed and one for my sister in law a queen room. We booked through Bestwesten.com and got a decent rate. Both rooms were fine. The biggest complaint was how the heating system works. It was cold when we ented the room as the AC was on, we looked at the thermostat, the figures were so small we could figureout how to turn it ip and just adjusted by guessing, we went for dinner and got back and the room was very hot and we could not turn down the temperature. TRhe toilet anbd shower and show are in a adjoining room and the sink was in the main room, strange as it seemed. The king bed had 6 pillows and that was great, the TV was great, it shalso had digitial channels as well.

This property was very old as we could look out into the coutyrad and there was a old patio. Check in was okay and quick. Clerk was very friendly. Would have been nice t have a pool or something for the cost we paid. Restuarant was open at 630 and the food was okay there there and price was decent too.

Guest computer was a laptop stuck outin the middle of the hall and close the lounge, not good for doing anything.

I'm not sure what this hotel was before Best Western acquired it but it is definitely not up to the standard of what I expect of this chain. The room looked old, tired and needs an updated look all the way from the paint to the decor. It definitely needs to be refreshed. The walls seemed to be paper thin as I heard everything that was happening on the floor above me and in the hall. In addition I could hear the music (although it was muffled) from the lounge down the hall. There was a restaurant but it was not open for early breakfast eaters like I am (7 am). The sink and the toilet and tub were not even in the same room. I don't know whose idea that was but it definitely does not work. Not what I would have expected from this chain of hotels.

Thank-you for taking the time to express your thoughts on your stay with us. We are constantly updating and refurbishing our hotel to provide our guests with the most modern accomdations, so feedback from our guests as to what type of changes they would like to see is always greatly appreciated. In regards to our restaurant hours, O'Brians opens at 6:30 Mon - Sat and 8:00 Sundays. We have adjusted opening times in the past, but although these hours may not be perfect absolutley everyone, they seem to make sense for the majority of our guests and cliental. Again, thank-you for your feed-back and please be assured that we take all of our guests comments very seriously.

Arrived at 5 pm and tthey didn't know if both rooms were ready. We asked if they could check and the deskgirl said she had to wait for the cleaners report. We got annoyed so she called someone from the resturaunt who checked; both WERE ready.

I had no control over the fan and dried up all night. my cfompannion in another room had no fan and cooked all night.

Let me first apoligize for not meeting your expectations at out hotel. We continually strive to create a enjoyable experience for our guests, but obviously could have done better in your case. Usually our housekeeping staff have all rooms completed before check-in time, but on this occasion we had an abnormally large amount of late check-outs and were running a little behind. We have since developed a better system of communication between our front desk agents and housekeeping staff; should we run into this situation again. In regards to the ventilation system, all of our rooms are fed by one unit that continually brings fresh air into each of the rooms. Each room is individually temperature controlled by a guest operated thermostat, so that although the air flow can not be turned off, the temperature is at the complete control of each individual guest. We have found that this type of system is much quieter than the usual fan driven HVAC units in most hotels.
Thank-you for taking the time to express your concerns and please be assured that we take all of our customers opinions very seriously.
