“Good Hotel, No pool but otherwise great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Good hotel to stay at very clean, breakfast is second to none. The hotel is on the outskirts of minot, so be prepared to be outside of town. Staff are very friendly and have a small store set up in the lobby for people requiring items. As for choice rewards program they consider this as a lower grade hotel so you need two of these hotel stays to make as one for the promos they offer. Even though its priced the same as comfort inn or sleep in.

Someone booked this hotel for us and we were ready to cancel and go to another hotel since most Econo Lodges are old, run down and poorly managed. We were pleasantly surprised to see it is a new hotel. The staff were all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. There was FRESH cookies, coffee, tea and hot cocoa available in the lobby 24/7. The free breakfast was great. The room was clean and very comfortable. We are looking forward to staying here again!

This hotel is newer and has great amenities! I was pleasantly surprised about the stay as I am very wary of staying at the lower end of the Choice Hotel line as there is a wide variance of standards kept. The desk agent was great. It took a little while to get checked in, but other than that, the stay was fantastic. The beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, they do not have windows that open. At least not in the room I was in. I would say, overall, the hotel has won my business for the future!

Breakfast is filling with huge dining space. Extremely affordable laundry services. Love cookies, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available 24/7 :) Fridge and microwave in room. Bathroom has awesome space! Computers are fast and printer readily available. Wi-Fi is slow at times. Everyone is extremely friendly except one female (short, reddish hair and taller) at front desk. She is inhospitable; definitely needs to work on customer service skills with ALL guests considering she's representing this hotel and a guest's first personal relations experience when entering establishment. Thankfully she works shifts.

Room Tip: Rooms next to stairwell hear every foot pounding.

While in Minot we have stayed several times at the Comfort Inn and the Sleep Inn. Now the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites is our new hotel in Minot! I have relatives in Minot so we visit every year or so. We really like the location because we can take the Hwy. 83 Bypass to go around town, or take Broadway to go through town. This hotel is new and everybody is so friendly and helpful, especially Moneek. That girl is a-mazing!!! She does it all -- registration, wash the floor, cookies & coffee, you name it -- and all with a smile and a genuine attitude that she wants your stay to be as pleasant as possible. The rooms and beds were very comfy and clean. (I would very seriously doubt the other reviewer's comments about bed bugs. She seemed to have a problem with everything and some people are just like that.) I liked that the breakfast includes hard boiled eggs (in the little frig). I sliced them onto my toast and it was yummy and filling! My 90 year old blind mom and my brother and his wife are arriving at this hotel tomorrow evening after two long days of driving from NW Washington to attend a funeral the morning after they arrive. Skye took my reservation information and was super helpful. I called back to request their quietest room for our road-weary travelers and Moneek answered the phone. She is working tomorrow night and I am totally confident that she will take very good care of them! THIS is the kind of service I would NEVER expect at an "Econo" Lodge. It is like Hilton service! I like it and we will be back!!

We washed into Minot during bad weather and spent two very pleasant days here at the Econo Lodge. It isn't just that everything was so shiny and new (although it certainly was) that made us happy to be there, but rather that the whole place was so well-designed, with an eye to beauty as well as to comfort. When you're stuck indoors for two days, your surroundings matter more than would otherwise be the case.

The room furnishings and decor were a pleasure to behold, and way better than the bland cookie-cutter stuff seen in most chain hotels. We had a good amount of space, two comfortable queens, a nice table and comfortable chairs, and a much roomier bathroom than generally found in chain motels these days. We may have been trapped by the weather, but we didn't feel trapped in our room: it was enjoyable to be there.

If we got tired of our four walls, we could go out to the very nice public area and relax in one of the comfy chairs placed by the windows, and we coud have coffee or tea and a nice big bakery-style cookie while we watched the storm rage. This nicely appointed space was also the breakfast room. The fare was mostly the standard continental stff, but there was fa waffemaker on hand ifor those who'd like something more substantial. We were happy with both the food choices and the surroundings.

For people washed off the road while riding cross country on a motorcycle, the guest laundry was a dream: TWO washers and TWO dryers, and when you bought laundry detergent at the desk, you also got a dryer sheets. Thank you for that! And the brand new appliances did a great job of cleaning our stuff.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were grateful that they let us park our motorcycle under tbe canopy near the entrance. They also helped us sort out the options for dinner, and we ended up ordering tasty yet inexpensive meals from local restaurants that deliver. We enjoyed them in the nice ambience of our room. The motel is in an area just being developed, so there were no restaurants nearby and we weren't about to get back on the bike and drive into the storm. But local dlivery turned out to be a fine option.

We generally try to avoid motel chains on the outskirts in favor of locally owned lodgings near downtowns, but we were very happy to have stayed here and would stay again if passing through Minot on a future trip. We also found the price quite reasonable considering the high quality of our lodging.

I thought that this was a nice hotel at first as it was brand new. Later I found out the following:

1. Breakfast was served so early and not restocked completly so the working men around ate most of the protein so all of th breakfast was carbs.
2. The beds are extremely uncomfotable.
3. I realized that after sleeping at this hotel for one night, I had bed bug bites. I had the assessed by a nurse and filed a complaint to the hotel and have yet to be reinbursed or contacted.

Not impressed at all. Also the customer service was lacking as the lady at the front desk refused to refill breakfast and was quite snippy to us. Hotel s very expensive for the area.
