“Fantastic Holiday!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Bulgaria! (13/09/13 - 20/09/13)

The hotel is brilliant and has everything that you need, the staff are so helpful and friendly and the entertainment staff are amazing.. always going the extra mile to make sure you are enjoying your holiday... a big thank you to Mitko, Dani and Villi! who were excellent.

I see a lot of people have been moaning about the food and crockery... lets face it.. it's a massive hotel and impossible to produce amazing 5* food in bulk... but there is something for everyone and I always managed to have a decent meal... I thought the lunch time menu was great! Pizza, Chips and a variety of meat dishes.. and the salad was great! especially the white Bulgarian cheese mixed with cucumber and tomatoes.. yummy :)

The all inclusive drinks were also really good! ok they were in small plastic cups.. but you could chose from a variety of different top shelf liquors! My personal favourite was the strawberry schnaps and lemonade... lovely!

The rooms were lovely.. modern and cleaned everyday! the beds were also really comfy and the bathroom was perfect... the shower was always hot and it wasn't just a bog standard wet room like you would get in Greece!!

If you want to eat out... the best place to eat by far is Djanny's just off from the main bus stop in Sunny Beach... me and my partner ate there for 52 lev (£27.50) and we had cocktails, main courses with sides and homemade bread.. the food was out of this world.

The bus was also really good... 1 lev (50p) to go anywhere! I would recommend taking a trip to Old Nessebar... great buildings and little markets! and a nice day out :)

The location was also great... you can walk along the beach front for about 15 minutes to find the bars and nightlife... it's a very nice walk!

If you looking to go out on the strip... make sure you tag along with the animation team (Mitko, Danni, Villi etc) as they will take you to all the really good bars and you will also get in for free to the main nightclubs.. (they usually cost around 15 lev each) so you can save some money!

The nightlife was also really good and the best club was room 2... the DJ was excellent!

All in all it was a fantastic holiday and I would certainly recommend staying at the Hotel Marvel!! :)

Returned today from a two week holiday at hotel marvel sunny beach, the hotel and rooms were lovely and clean. My room was cleaned every day by a really nice and polite maid. The food wasn't great there wasn't much variety and it was sometimes cold, for September the weather was quite good except for the evenings when it got rather chilly. The restaurant staff are very much over worked and a lot of the time look knackered but they still manage to put on a smile and work hard. The pool was very clean as the lifeguard is quick to fish out anything that may be floating in the pool, A special mention to Borislav as he always had a smile on his face and was very polite. There is free wifi but it only works in certain places and can turn off at anytime. But my overall experience here was good :).

Just returned from holiday at marvel hotel 13 sept 3013. Fantastic hotel perfect location. Only bad point was the state of the crockery in resturante. Every cup, every plate was cracked or chipped, this is not acceptable, you cannot treat paying guests like this, I would NOT go back because of this, it is a health hazard. I will watch these reviews or wait for a reply before I decide to return.Cmon Marvel get your act together bin all the broken plates etc and buy new ones, you would not get away with this in the UK. The entertainment team at the Marvel are the best especially Mitko, The guy goes out of his way to make sure all guests have a fabulous time. He even goes out of his way to talk to you when he is off duty deserves all the credit he can get. Wether your old or young there is entertainment for all.

Room Tip: High floor for good view

just returned from hotel marvel in sunny beach, great hotel lovely and clean big spacious rooms, we just went b & b breakfast was fine something for everyone, great location nearer enough to centre but far enough away so you dont get all the noise, great resort only thing i found was outside the hotel people not very friendly, there was some but overall not as friendly as turkish people. a must see is neesabar old town its a lovely old town, just jump on a bus it only costs 1 lev anywhere and the buses run none stop, wasnt as cheap as i thought it was going to be, they wont haggle with you like in turkey, but they will let you look round shops without any hassle. if you are planning a holiday here go before september if you like the sun, wasnt to bad but it got rather nippy at night

stayed at the marvel 30th aug - 13 sept
first impressions were good, hotel looked nice, check in was fairly quick and simple.
we had our luggage taken to our room which was a nice touch and the bell boy explained the aircon and how to use it, as we arrived late so they sent a plate of food to our room, another nice touch.
the food.
i would say 95percent of the food was luke warm at best, they had a microwave but who wants to use that every mealtime. the service in the restaraunt was terrible, they seem to employ students who do not really want to be there, 99% of the crockery was either cracked or chipped. we saw food being put out for service half an hour before the restaraunt opened.
location was very good, only 1 min walk to the beach which was very nice, only downside was the price of the sunbeds, 24lev for 2 beds and a brollie(£12 for the day)
the room
we had a cracked w/c seat and no shower curtain, reported this and it was sorted within the hour, and if you go to this hotel take some coat hangers with you as there was only 7 hangers for the 2 of us for a 2 week holiday
drinks
drinks where served in small plastic cups, but you could get 2 or 3 drinks at a time, never had to wait long at the bar.
pool
all i can say is it was very cold, sunbeds where a bit cramped but we got ready for breckie about 8-45 and put towels out before breckie and there was no probs.
overall
we had a nice holiday but would consider another hotel.
ps, if you have a car, beware where you park it, the grabbers are as quick as a rat up a drainpipe, you have been warned!!!!!!!

For september I booked a dbl room with pool view. We get a nice spacious room at third floor with balcony with partial sea view (nr. 337). The room was clean and had a sofa, LCD tv, AC, minibar and hairdrayer. The bathroom was also spacious with tub.
The restaurant was crowded and sometimes you had to stay in line 3 min to get a plate and some warm food but this thing was ok with us. The food was good, enought and different almost every day.
The hotel was near the beach promenade with a lot of shops and restaurants, close to a supermarket and a bus station.

I am only back off a holiday with my partner after a week in the marvel and it was mixed emotions about the hotel to be honest. First impressions are great with a lovely spaceous lobby and large pool area and we stayed in a suite so we were impressed with room space and the lovely view overlooking the pool and sea at the back of the hotel. However we did book B&B luckily enough as our first trip down to the breakfast buffet wasnt a success to say the least. There was no organisation what so ever. As we walked in there was a member of the hotel staff at the door as we assumed to take our room number but didnt so we felt anyone could be walking into the hotel, there was no organisation at all. Que wise people were barging in and out because plates and cutlery etc. were in auqward positions were people had no choice but to cut through. Everything just seemed to be in unrealistic places for people to reach. As we got a seat i had seen all of our glass cutlery had large chippings out of them and as i looked around to see if i only came across one or two it seemed everyone on different tables were the same ... was not impressed at all by this. after one morning at the breakfast we didnt go back it was easier to go out somewhere else as we felt service and quality of food was extremely poor.
however we met lovely staff members at the pool (Teddy) her name was and Simon were really nice and told us about the Turkish baths and carrot oil massages. Probably the best thing done on our holiday as it was very relaxing and lovely staff that made it even more comfortable.
Cleanliness wise was prefect the cleaners would clean the rooms everyday fresh bed sheets, towels etc. they definitely done the job right and always met us on the corridors with lovely smiles and a very pleasant welcome .
A few refurbishments wouldn't go a miss as there was a plaster holding my shower on the stand ... i thought that it was quite disgusting to be honest and a small hole in the ground with a rusty wire gauze over it to cover. its these little things that make you think what other things could be wrong.
location wise was good as it is only a 5 minute walk from the strip and it is about a 20 minute walk from any major nightclubs like den glad viking, iceberg, revolution or disco orange.
Pool was lovely but for the whole week there was no music properly playing and not much gaming activity which me and my partner would have liked for a bit of fun and on our last day the pool was kicking and the laughs out of people were electric. I feel it should be a consistent thing to happen rather than every few days. it would have been nice to join in a little more with others. Also we were told at the bar located right at/in the pool we were not allowed to be served anything because we were not all inclusive. He was a bit rude saying it to us as if we were to know in the first place but just thought it was very strange that they don't have accommodation at the bar for all guests .... I think if this was changed it would be better for guests.
Overall i enjoyed my stay but there were a good few things that put me off going back to this hotel again. I have been to bulgaria several times and always stayed in the Iberostar down the opposite end of the strip and i couldnt fault a thing about it id give it 5 stars and from being there i thought i spoiled myself expectation wise but as my partner was with me and felt the same i knew i wasn't nit picking at little things.
