“Good Location and Clean”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Sun Palace is just off the main strip to Sunny Beach. Very near lots of bars, restaurants and entertainment. We found the hotel to be clean and comfortable.
The food provided in the all-inclusive package isn't the best, but this isn't unusual on european package deals. There was always something available to keep us going, but i wouldnt plan on having your main meal here. We did on our first night and another when we were having a day by the pool, but found the restaurants to be so cheap you could eat elsewhere for very little of our holiday spends.
We found the drink included in the all-inclusive to be fair, small glasses but you could top up regularly. As well as beer and spirits they offered cocktails of the day, and we welcomed cool soft drinks in the sun and afternoon ice-cream.
The pool was a decent size, we travelled in September and so not peak time but i imagine it would be a little crowded during high season. Lots of room to it outside and lounge by the pool, but they are very strict on leaving towels - even to go for a cold drink when they are plenty of others available! We lost our towels and never got them back. There was poolside entertainment during the day, polo games etc. We do not have kids but were also aware of childrens activities to keep them entertained. Entertainment in the evening was okay. We didnt use it much, but it was okay to have something going on around the hotel before we went out for the evening.

Sun Palace was fine for a week away in the sun, we had a happy holiday.

2 weeks was too long to stop at the hotel.
Gym hahah rubbish hardly nothing there and what was there was broke.
Pool cold and small.
Food not the best BUT you could always make a meal. (Becarefull eating beans I found bits of metal in the bean 3 days running)
Alcohol served in plastic cups but you could ask for pint glasses.
Staff not the friendliest and not much help.
Hotel right on main road.
But the biggest problem I had was the Germans. The hotel was full of them young and old, all rude loud.
Good points 1 lev to nessbar which is a must, beer cheap and food cheap if you look around.
Waterparks close by and there both good.
If I went back to sunny Beach I'd go self catering.
Not the greatest holiday iv had( worse in fact) but I still enjoyed my self even if the weather wasnt the best

Had a good time am bulgaira a would go back but wouldn't book with bailkin or go back to this hotle until they have more entertainment for kids and hve. A better food selection and the kids can't get ice-cream at the hottest time of the day !!!

i travelled with my friend and stayed here for a week this september, first time in bulgaria, loved sunny beach hotel location brilliant, the rooms were ok and clean towels every day if needed some of the staff were pleasant and helpful others very rude, the biggest problem was the food which was really repetative and only warm, food was used cooked again or used as soup, we were a/i but ate out 4 times in a 7 day period, the meals out were lovely, freshly cooked and hot the shower was really spacious, numerous people complained about the food to be told by the manager that the hotel catered for 8 nationalaties this comment was absurd they only catered to people from eastern europe, the manager was rude and autocratic, we were also quoted 49 levs each to keep our room on when in the hotel rules and regulations book that was in our room ,it states quite clearly the price to keep the room on is in fact 40 levs total we complained and paid 40 but were then cold shouldered by the staff in question, the turkish bath is fantastic and worth a visit, would not stay here again and would not do all inclusive in bulgaria

Just returned from a week at the sun palace sunny beach. Thankfully the weather was great so we didn't have to spend too much time at the hotel. We were on holiday for our wedding aniversary and went away for some sunshine and a rest. On arrival at the hotel the reception staff were not that helpfull. The lift was smelly so used the stairs for the rest of the time we were there. The food was always the same and it would have helped if it was presented better as the odd meal was quite edible. Hotel entertainment there was none really. The rooms were spacious but in need of a makeover. The shower was ok but the water didn't drain away so every time you had a shower by the end of it the water was up to your ankles. Sunny Beach resort itself was ok but lots of places had already shut down so by the end of our week there you were limited to the number of places to go. The best things about our time there were Nessibar it is beautifull, our night out at Khan's tent brilliant night out and some lovely people we met form Coventry and Leicester. If we went to Sunny Beach again we would not go all inclusive.

Arrived at Sun Palace at 2-30am booked in at reception was handed a blue plastic bag which contained a ham and cheese sandwich 1apple fairy cake. THESE WERE TAKEN FROM BEHIND
THE RECEPTION DESK AND WERE PAST THERE BEST have no idea how long the food had been there. we got to our room which was a good size facing the main road on the 3rd floor.
on opening the fridge we were expecting to find a bottle of water no chance. We would no drink the tap water as we were unsure if it was safe to do so. When we went to the get breakfast we had cornflakes and toast. There were people milling around looking for something to eat it looked as though the food had been standing for sometime. there was butterbeans in sauce .german sausage scrambbled eggs and hard boiled eggs. Dinner times consisted of pork potatoes with herbs on top chicken which was raw in the middle. The food was put out 30mins before opening time hence lukewarm at opening time. HAD SEEN FLIES CRAWLING OVER UNCOVERED CAKES. Decided not to eat in hotel food inedible certain manager was called as the chips were inedible dried up she said they were ok but would not eat one herself . that many people complaining cook brought out fresh food. My wife decided to make the bed and she found the mattress covered in blood stains. The only good thing about this hotel is the location . FORGET EVENING ENTERTAINMENT ONE OLD MAN ON AN ORGAN ODD GAME OF BINGO. ITS BEYOND BELIEF LITTLE RESTAURANTS CAN DO FANTASTIC MEALS FOR NEXT TO NOTHING YET THIS PLACE CANT COMPETE . rant over

the hotel itself was nice, the floors shining, lifts worked, the rooms were cosy and bathroom had big shower and hairdryer. The only problems with the hotel were a roof leak, not very good english, food non variety the meals were the same everyday with 4 item choices and soup, did not like. oh always lock up valuables. The hotel is next to a supermarket, taxi, sunny beach strip and beach. Bus regular and 1lev. 5min walk to aquapark. lots of bars only 2 clubs. overall clean hotel need improvements but good location 3-4/5.

Room Tip: rooms are nice just avoid roof leakages.
