“Honestly Do Not Go!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

We went last summer thinking that only people who have a bad time write reviews on sites like this and it can't be that bad... but it was honestly a terrible place!!
The food is disgusting, the bar staff were stealing men and children's football shirts when they were in the pool. Each day the bar man would have a different football shirt on, stolen from a guest!!
When we went to check out the maid screamed and shouted at me in Bulgarian about the sheets which were already stained! We ignored her and walked off, when we got to reception they tried to charge us about £50 for it!! We obviously did not pay and told them that we had an awful time, the place was disgusting and they can p**** off! We are only a couple aged 23 and were not expecting the best for what we paid, but I wish I had taken note of these reviews and paid the extra £50 or whatever. Usually I wouldn't complain and just get on with it but it was just so awful. The hotel has the potential to be really good and it is a shame that it is so bad. If you want a good diet it's the best you can go on because you will not be able to eat for your entire stay! The pool bar isn't all inclusive, you have to queue for ages to get a drink inside.

Honestly, just spend the extra money and stay somewhere else, it should be knocked down!

Room Tip: A good room in a different hotel.......

We were there in 2008 and after reading the reviews for 2012 nothing has changed, its still not all inclusive, the food couldn't be classed as pig swill ,and the drinks are still served in soft plastic cups even tea. even the restaurants in the vicinity of the Pomorie offer you 20% off your bill when they see your wristband, The rooms are no better small , broken slats on the beds, and no storage for your clothes, the cleaners did their best, but the management and most off the other staff were rude ,and sometimes the bar staff bordered on belligerent we paid £1800 for a fortnight to be degraded, and treated like scum, we were there twice previously ,but the Riu hotels were all full , never again will I book with Balkan holidays or use the Pomorie hovel and no its not a spelling mistake I meant hovel. you have been warned .

Room was not good every thing was tired the carpet was dirty. the shower was mouldy.the food was disgusting we looked in on the restaurant at meal times and walked out again . ive seen better soup kitchens.there was only ever one bar person on .and drinks were served in very small plastic cups and no diet coke unless you were diabetic. we were sold this holiday as a family holiday and it was not!!!! it was full of people complaining about everything from food to staff. we spent 2 weeks in this hell hole .never again so just dont do it !!!!

After saving 12 months for a fantastic holliday (as we thought) we were totaly let down, disapointed and shocked with our holliday @ pamorie hotel, sunny beach!! Firstly on arrival we was greated with a grumpy, rude and un helpfull receptionest. She threw door keys and didn't give us any information of the hotel, times of restauraunt etc. we didnt knw where our room was or anything. The moment we got into out room we noticed the bed was broken and we had to sleep with the children, which wasn't ideal as we especialy paid for a family room!! When we asked reception if the bed could be fixd they told myself they didnt care and to fix it ourselfs!!
When going to breakfast we were greated with gone of milk hard bread and slop! Baring in mind we had our 2 year old and 6 year old children with us this wasnt ideal! On the secound day we ended up buying our brekfast in the local shop to make in the restaurant ourselfs! When we visited the restaurent we was met with food from the previous day, no fruit or veg, or fresh anything! When we complained with the rest of the guest no one was listend to and offten brushed off or the receptionist would start humming. When we was by the lovely pool we were greated by a very rude lifeguard who we only saw for 5 minutes every day, and who we saw on many ocasions swear, bully and upset guest aswell as myself. At one point he turned around to myself in front of my young children fff off u cx23" ( excuse language) becouse there was a bed by pool which wasnt even ours!...we had to pay for drinks at the pool and snacks were either pate( from brekfast ham) or just ice cream!.. On our first night we got told that there was no entertainment and wed have to travel 20 minutes in a taxi that we would have to pay for entertainment but would have to pay full price for drinks!,,(we paid for all inclusive)!!.overall the food, hotel, staff, entertainment and accomodation were awfull, upsetting, rude, disapointing and extremely stressfull. There was sickness and dioreah rife through hotel and no one cared! At least we found friends in the other guests who were also disgusted!. We went for a lovely family holliday and ended up with a holliday from hell!! There is no way we should of been sold this holiday as a family resort and im extremley upset for my wife and children to have to experience a holiday like this!! After saving so long and always booking with the local first choice shop i cant believe there was no advice as to not to go to this accompdation! My wife and myself were so dissapointed with the service we paid for it caused stress and upset when we should be enjoying ourselfs. We hope u take this complaint serious as the hotel and holliday we was suplied was nothing like we was looking forward to!! And the hotel should no way or form be classed as a "holiday for familys". After saving all year we had to spent £1300 just to eat out 2-3times a day and find entertainment for the family, which was not we planned for after booking with a reputable company like yourself, after 8 years of booking holidays with yourselfs we shouldnt of been given a holiday like this!
Yours sincerley
C davies

Bulgaria is a nice place for a family holiday, plenty of things to do and places to visit. Pomorie Hotel, all I can say is do not stay "ALL INCLUSIVE" the food was slop and we had to queue for everything, half an hour for drinks at the bar, food and drinks in the restaurant. I felt like I was second class! I had to constantly ask for milk, butter, bread, drinks, plates, cups, glasses as they were constanly running out of everything. In the bars, always running out of fanta, cola, beer, vodka, gin, whisky, just about everything! We did eat out quite a lot as my children refused to eat the food after the first week. Two of the bars are NOT all inclusive (the swim up bar and the games room bar) I complained along with a lot of other people, but it didn't do any good, I wrote a letter when I got home, yet again it was a waste of time. We just made the best of it, as it was our family holiday but I would never go to the Pomorie Hotel again.

Room Tip: quiet rooms over look the pool, 3 in a room is not good as it is only suitable for 2 people at the m...

Hotel in good position to enjoy the varied nightlife on offer around Sunny Beach, but avoid last 2 weeks in Sept. as resort closes down around you leaving a ghost town. Hotel also packed things away. Drinks were served in squashy plastic cups day and evening and spirits often run out during evening. 1 Bar with 1 Barman for all inclusive. Food is typical Bulgarian using cheapest cuts of chicken, pork, veal, potatoes, rice, 1 or 2 veg. and salad. Although cooked well, do not expect International cuisine. Breakfast was fried egg, sausage, eggy bread, scrambled egg, cornflakes and toast. "Tea" was in an urn and tasted awful so I microwaved "hot" water from another urn and used own teabags until no microwave after a week. Pool area not swept, and in 30 years of holiday travel, have never met such an ignorant, rude, lazy staff member as the poolman(Bob, Boris no-one would say). Loved Sunny Beach and nearby Old Nessabar. Use local bus when you want to look round, only 1 Lev (40p) per journey.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms overlooking pool quieter. Choose Bed & Breakfast.

We have just got back from there today. Were do I start? We did read the reviews before going but thought it was just a few fussy customers.
The food was disgusting! They severed the same food every night more or less. It was all warmish. The microwave didn't work, the staff was horrible when u asked them something. The male in there kept coming out an giving us dirty looks, plates, glasses wasn't very clean. The baby's high chairs was dirty no straps in them at all. We all had an upset tummy from the food.
The cleaners put clean bedding on once in the week we stayed. They also tried to rob my shoes the hid them under the bed(which is a divan and they couldn't slide underneath). They was placed neathly under it. They hid another pair in the wadrobe the day before we was leavng because we had already packed and some preasnts we had bought they had hiden under the counter the carpets were minging. The blancony was a lovely size but that also was very dirty not brushed or mopped the baby's feet was constaly dirty tables out there wasn't cleaned the whole time we was there. The shower door was hanging off. The hair dryer in the bath room was broken. When I reported that the staff tried to take the shoes she sed she dosnt think so maybe she was trying to tidy up? She wasn't intersted at all very horrible.
There was no internet for us to use they was taken away the 2nd night we was there. We had to pay for the wifi which u could only use at resption.
Only one all inclusive bar in the hotel u had to pay for they one at the pool. Bar staff and cleaners was smoking whilst working.
But I loved the reasort an the beach was lovely there is some nice ppl about. Everywhere is cheap to eat out. The bus was very cheap to nessebar 1lv we got the boat back wich was a lovely little day out. The boat as about 10lv for adult an 5 for kids.
We will go back to sunny beach soon. We had a lovely time there
