“Lovely Hotel !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2012

We travelled out to Meridian hotel on the 14th May 2012 for one week, bed and breakfast as 2 couples (all aged 19). after reading a lot of reviews complaining i was a little worried about what it was actually like, but to be honest i dont see the problem, i thought it was a lovely hotel & the day we got back we have decided to all go to the Meridian again, just self catering.
The hotel was clean and modern, with maids cleaning almost every day. the balcony view was lovely. we decided to get a safe (35v levs) which i would recommend just to be on the safe side. We found some staff to be quite nice, with them letting us use there printer and computer behind the reception desk free of charge so that we could print our boarding passes out for when we left, but the other members of staff just let us get on with it (to be honest i didnt go to the hotel to make friends with them)
The only down side would be the food, as we were only B&B we were quite relieved, we only went to breakfast once, the rest we ate out. The food didnt look appetizing, and didnt taste the best either. I would suggest this hotel, but as self catering.
The hotel is situated in a busy area, with a lot of atmosphere outside i would deffinatly recommed the Mexico bar, 'Patrick' the bar man is so funny and lovely, there are also a lot of places to eat, however i wouldnt recommend 'The House' as i suffered from food poisioning from there.
If you decide to travel to Nessebar, just as a tip i would keep all belongings safe as we heard that the bus was known for people stealing, and my friend who we travelled with got her purse stolen, so be EXTRA safe.
All in all it was a lovely holiday even with the stolen purse, the weather, and being ill, there was a lot of things to do and will hopefully be returning to the Meridian later this year.

P.s just as a tip, point the shower to the wall, as this helps avoid flooding the bathroom out.

not a review as such as havent been yet but just a heads up to anyone going to this hotel. I have read that this hotel charges £40 for a late check out. To be honest I think this is terrible. Our flight isnt til 02.10 so I went onto bookings.com and got a room for the night in the hotel acroos the road. Ok its only for 12 hours and we wont get breakfast burt we can have a rest have a shower and not have to wander about Sunny Beach for hours. Price £25. Shop about hotels in bulgaria book one night stays dont be ripped off. Oh and if your going round about 6th to 20th July. I'll see you there xxxx

Don't know why there was so much problems with this hotel form other reviews? I booked our summer hotel in Sunny Beach and got cancelled 3 times before ending up sticking with this hotel. The hotel was clean, modern and friendly. Our room with a balcony and sea view was beautiful, rooms and hall ways clean and nice. Beauty salon within the hotel was cheap and great. Breakfast was the best as it is on the top floor, with beautiful views of the sun rise and sea in the morning. NOW first of all this is Sunny Beach, the "NEW" Ibiza, so a lot of young people stay here, as it is a clubbing destination, so if your a family or young it is great, NOT for old people or for people looking for a quiet break. It is at the other end of the sunny beach club strip but is a 5 minute walk to the heart of it, however LOADS going on outside the step of the hotel, bars, clubs restaurants and the beach is a 1 minute walk across the road. Parking was secure as we drove to Bulgaria our car was well looked after all day and night long. WILL 100% COME BACK AGAIN! The only downside is that in Sunny Beach it was about 20-C so not hot at all as i am used to 48-C in the Middle East, the water in the swimming pool was for -100C haha so be carefull dont jump in!!!!

Room Tip: Should pay for an upgrade to a sea view room with balcony, really worth it than the standard rooms a...

i stayed in the meridian centre hotel for 2 weeks in june 2010 , with 3 of my friends aged 18 we went for a good time and didnt cause any bother however the reception staff were very rude to us becasue we where so young i felt they where watching over us all the time and picking on us. they put us on the first floor where the staff stayed , staff members slept during the day and would chap our door and complain to us at 4 oclock in the afternoon saying we were to noisy what do they expect at that time in the afternoon , other than that hotel was nice and pool area was clean bathroom was quite clean but smelled damp, carpets had some stains on it. beds where comfortable and clean rooms had a mini bar fridge but when we put our own juice in the fridge the maid tried to charge us for our own juice and chocolate bars so watch out for this. would advise young groups of people to ask for a room which is away from floor 1 where staff members live. between 3 to 5 leva for a sunlounger at the pool , pool area was always very busy. i would stay here again but not on the first floor, the breakfast wasnt very nice but did offer a wide selection i would NOT stay half board as their are plenty of cheap good quality restaurants in sunny beach. i love sunny beach was a great resort with plenty to offer for everyone and i will be going back to sunny beach again this summer 2012. Room Tip: tell your travel operator you dont want to stay on floor 1 or 2

Me and my boyfriend came here for our first holiday together, for one week in July b&b. Overall we had an enjoyable stay at the hotel but i don't think we'd go back! The negatives are when we first arrived a man carried our bags up to our rooms (which we didn't ask for) then when we arrived to our room he walked in and stood there awkwardly until we tipped him. Although we don't mind tipping staff he gave us no choice & wouldn't leave until we got our money out in a panic so beware of him!! We soon learnt that the reception staff are not so friendly either and are quite ignorant, although the bar staff seemed friendly enough. The rooms were clean enough on the whole, however cigarette burns in the carpets and hairs in the bedding are not really appealing to see when we first arrived. Also we were not informed until we were sunbathing that you have to pay 5lev per person for a sun lounger which i found off-putting. The positives of this holiday is the atmosphere around the pool is good as they play up-to-date music all day & the pool is huge and always clean. The hotel is close to the beach which is lovely however there are lots of jellyfish in the sea. We found a gorgeous place to eat on a night named the Harp which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, the staff are really friendly and the food is cheap- always packed with a lovely vibe. Overall we don't think we would go back to Bulgaria as we find the people quite rude, there are lots of beggers and it rained a lot. One thing i will mention if you are intending on going is that it's worth taking your favourite picture from home with you, as on nearly every corner there are painters that do large portraits from your picture that look professional and are cheap- we really wish we could have got one done to take home- hope this helped :)
