“Perfect location, friendly clean hotel! Fab pool.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013 via mobile

My husband, 2 children ages 12 & 16 & myself stayed here for 7 nights all incl. We arrived here at around 2am on the Sat morning & check in was straight forwards. They do keep your passports but we didn't mind that as it saved us paying for a safety deposit box for the week to store them in. Our room was a 1 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor with a fab balcony overlooking the pool. The room was spotless but basic(Butlins Gold apartment)but it suited our needs. The beds were all made with fresh clean sheets & we were thrilled to find we had a jacuzzi bath & shower (being a woman we prefer a bath). We were so worried about staying here after changing from the Meridian Hotel because this place had some terrible reviews so we were expecting a right s***hole basically but we were all pleasantly surprised. The all inclusive food was edible but not really to my tastes in the beginning of our stay but I soon started to be a little more adventurous & did try some local cuisine which I must admit, I did enjoy. I stuck with toast in the mornings because I did not like the look of their scrambled eggs & Bacon (the Bacon is actually a smoked ham & the scrambled eggs were made with lots of butter). The drinks here are VERY strong lol. The first night I was very drunk & suffered for it on the Sun haha but the cocktails in the cocktail bar were buy 2 for 7 levs so I drank quite a few of those & Omg they were lush but once again, very strong lol. We will definitely stay here again. Do NOT listen to all the bad reviews, give it a try because like us you might be pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff were great, the barmen lovely & it has its own shop, money exchange, hair salon, 3 bars, restaurant, casino & the health spa & gym. What more do you want & the location is perfect for the main strip & the beach & its nearly all open 24 hours.

on arrival at 1pm we were told check in was at 2pm we said fine can we get lunch while we wait we were told no that all inclusive meals begin at 6pm . I explained my partner was diabetic and needed to eat and we had payed for all inclusive after wasting my time talking I was told to go to the shop or café and buy something .at 2pm we checked in and asked again about food and drinks we were told there was tea and coffee and snack at 4pm . we got our room which was basic but clean and went to find the snacks . in the restraunt we were shown 1 coffee machine which was for the entire hotel and 1 plate with very dry cake on it that was it till 6pm . the restraunt is not big enough for the hotel leaving people without a table or a free for all for the food . lunch and evening meals are the same poor quality chicken fatty diced pork and under cooked fish salad frozen chips hot dog sausage and watery pasta you can have omelette and pizza with your evening meal every day breakfast is probably the best meal of the day toast when you have qued for the toaster and for the coffee and for a fried egg basicly you spend your entire meal time in a quing for luck warm food that tastes vile. the all inclusive bar is so small 2 beer pumps 1 bottle of red and 1 bottle of white wine 1 vodka 1 gin 1 golden rum 1 whiskey 1 brandy and 1 crème de month soft drinks but no diet drinks for my hubby who is diabetic only water we were told he would have to buy his own .entertainment is an oap on a keyboard . the view from our balcony in the day was a back street at night it was prostitutes drug deals and fights also the smell from the skip with no lid that was full of food was unpleasant to say the least although the local cats were lovin it .the only polite staff were the cleaners and 1 of the reception staff .to change rooms there is a charge . overall we need a holiday to get over the jail sentence we have just served.

Room Tip: there is none

Room: standard with twin beds, tv, sofa and hairdryer. Toilet paper really poor quality. not all bulbs working. Shower leaking into the room. However, spacious room with large balcony which are nice additional. Towels changed everyday when requested BUT bed sheets never changed during 2 weeks stay (however hotel description says to change them every 4 days). Also during two weeks time the carpet in the room was brushed/vacuumed at most twice... Imagine all the sand around..

Food: PIZZA, CHIPS & FISH FINGERS EVERYDAY, its ok for 3 days but later you cant stand the look of them. Large selection of salads, fruits and stews (but tasteless).
Live music same playlist every single day... Always PROBLEM with chairs and tables, not all staff in restaurant speaking any other language than bulgarian. Microwave to heat up the food because most of it was cold.

ALL INCLUSIVE: Good selection of alcoholic drinks: beer, Gin, vodka, rum, whisky, brandy, "green alcoholic mouthwash" and red&white wine. Also good selection of non alcoholic drinks: fanta, cola (NO DIET), sprite, tonic, orange juice drink, coffee, tea and water. However the downfall was the staff serving the drinks. There was only one bar for over 200 guests with only one bar staff and with bad manners. NO matter how friendly you approach him.

Hotel overall: Hotel was clean, saw cleaners everyday however you will be unlucky if you get a room above the cafe/club as the music was very loud 24/7. We had room on the opposite wing of the hotel and had to have balcony door closed overnight as the music was TOO LOUD to go to sleep (even with the door closed you could hear the music).
Hotel wi-fi working on/off all the time ONLY in reception with limited seats, dont bother buying the hotspots wifi as no signal in the room anyway.
MASSIVE TIP go to the cafe, get coffee and ask for password to their wifi, and you have a reliable wifi till the end of your stay plus a nice coffee!! Overall the hotel was 2* (or bulgarian 4*) compared to 3* premier inn.
Get to know the young staff in the hotel!! They speak good english really friendly and actually bothered to talk to you! Like Medo the porter.

HOTEL LOCATION: it was spot on, walking distance everywhere. Whatever you would look for including bars/clubs or restaurants, shops, supermarkets, entertainment, beach and thats what you really pay for the location.

HOTEL ENTERTAINMENT: Apart from live (same every night) music NO OTHER entertainment.. I have been to other places and really enjoyed simple activities during a day like: volleyball, darts, overall pool activities... NOTHING even stupid thing as table tennis was PAID, 5lv an hour!!!! Not a massive dent in the pocket but that should have been part of hotel entertainment at least for All Inclusive customers..

POOL AREA: Pool was freezing like an arctic water!!! I MEAN IT (maybe thats why there was no water activities)!!! the water in the sea must have been twice as warm as in the pool!
Everyday struggle to get the sun bed/chair as not enough (like 50 for over 200 guests) for all guests and once you got the chair there was a problem with the shade produced by the building. Half day of sun on one side half on the other. SO you are sitting in the sun for half day and the rest in the shade.. Not enough space for all the guests...

SMOKERS... Big problem around the pool I dont smoke but most of people just smoke next to you making you inhale that crap... not relaxing.. (btw this is a problem in all bulgaria..).

NOW THE BEACH: Nice sand and very clean with good access to entertainment and refreshments however you had to pay for the sun chairs every single day in order to be close to the sea. The price was 8lv per DAY per chair and 8lv per DAY per Umbrella... So if I was to buy it everyday for 2 weeks its around £150 JUST (based on two beds and umbrella) for that. If you dont want to buy there is a small space for your towels at the back of the beach next to the pubs without the sea view.. Another annoyance was the never ending VERY loud music from the pubs..

Overall its a 18-30 only holiday for people with no intention to relax just get in party and get back to hotel to your crash pad..

2* for this hotel as there were more negatives then positives
3* for the holiday as the location was spot on

Would go back to bulgaria but NOT the same hotel

Room Tip: Ask for the room with balcony overlooking the pool as far as possible from the cafe/club

Myself, partner and daughter stayed here latter end of june through to july for 2 weeks. What a doss of a place this is. As described by meadowell and a few others, you have to experience it to believe it !
We tried to move a few days into our holiday but holiday gems, med hotels weren't interested, so we had no choice to stay. We were all inclusive, but spent most, if not all our holiday away from this place.
But hey, if you fancy this 18 - 30's doss house go for it !!
On the plus side, you will get to see Dr. Drip, no matter what is wrong with you - you'll end up on a drip !
MARK MY WORDS!
So if you want a total disaster of a holiday........GO FOR IT !!

Terrible hotel. Supposed to be all inclusive but only 1 bar was and that was the pool bar which was bout 6ft long! Food was at best tepid. There was a microwave in the dining area so that u cud heat your food up but it had been used that much it looked like a hand grenade had gone off inside! The music was banging until 5am for the two nights we were there before the rep moved us to Aqua Nevis!
Never again! More suited to 18-30 who want the location as very close to the strip. Also I got 37 Mossi bites in the 1st night of being there and only another 2 when we were moved to Aqua Nevis which was a brilliant move for us

Returned from a week's stay half board @ Hotel Diamond. Room very basic, clean and, maids and reception staff excellent. Restaurant chaotic & food was a "food poisoning accident waiting to happen". Food cold, half cooked, not labelled properly & half board basis didn't include any drinks with evening meal. Guests kept in a long waiting queue @ main restaurant door (whilst 2 poolside doors left open and other guests freely walked in helping themselves) as insufficient tables available

Sockets hanging off walls, lights not working due to missing bulbs reported to Hotel by Tour Operator on 2nd day of trip still hadn't been fixed by end of trip! Balcony glass cracked & fire doors with broken hinges jammed open with chairs. Music blared 24/7 from 2 bars all night and Hotel staff had no control over guests being raucous in the late evenings who were using the pool and causing a disturbance.

I would also suggest that guests buy or bring their own toilet rolls/wipes as the quality of toilet tissue issued by the hotel is deplorable.

Room check out is 12 noon and on paying to keep room later on day of departure, Hotel allowed room to be kept until 1800 hours even although guests weren't departing hotel until 0130 hrs the following morning. With many flights all leaving on the Monday night/Tuesday morning, this meant that guests were lying around all over Hotel reception area for up to 8 hours whilst awaiting Tour Operator buses transfers to airport. I would only give this hotel 1* and not 4* rating.

The pool was only visibly cleaned once during the week I was there with none of the spa/fountains in operation the whole time and the pool side plastic filter/drainage being black with muck instead of white and clean at various points around the pool. Sunbeds were being booked from 0700 hrs onward with guests leaving towels on them for hours at a time or the full day. It is impossible to find any area at the poolside that is a non-smoking area which made it quite an unpleasant place to be as smoke from cigarettes, cigars, pipes, etc was billowing everywhere. Coming from the UK where we have clear no smoking areas, this makes the poolside a "No Go" area unless you wish to be a passive smoker!

There is a gym but this is also quite untidy and has a very low bench press so for taller people some of the equipment may be too low. There is a 5 Lev daily charge for the gym.

This hotel is overcrowded with inadequate seating, sunbeds and, tables around the main areas for numbers of guests utilising facilities.

This Hotel is well situated for the Strip with its many bars, restaurants, sex shops/clubs and casinos. The beach is lovely but the Hotel is more inkeeping with people who may be of an 18-30 age group who are only interested in loud music and binge drinking. I would say it is not suitable for anyone looking for a restful or child-free vacation.

Room Tip: Probably best to have a room overlooking the pool, otherwise, you could be overlooking main road wit...

just come back from the diamond hotel,,this is not a 4 star hotel,,all i can say is that the place is clean and tidy, ideal location and lots of lovely staff,,mondo moni and betty and a lovely lady whos name i didnt get,,you wont be disappointed with the staff. the rooms are ok not posh if your looking for posh go to another hotel.
the food is not the best but you can put up with it,,you might as well have breakfast there, wewent out for breakfast and found its better at hotel,
the all inclusive bar is by the pool not big and the other bars you will have to pay,
if you plan to have your evening meal there get you pud first other wise youll be unlucky lol.
all in all its a nice place to stay,
the food is so cheap that its good to eat out, i enjoyed it,,if you plan to go in september go early better than late september as the places start to close down by the 18th.
but you will enjoy it,
WE DID

Room Tip: was on 6th floor quite side,,,,ideal
