“TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

Very nice hotel, well kept grounds with the exception of the management. We first arrived and was given the wrong room. We were told the next day to repack all our stuff, after already unpacking. That next day we was told the management made a mistake and therefore we would not be moving. Had to live out of a suitcase, while unpacking and repacking. Not what you want when on a relaxing holiday. Also, the first room stunk of smoke - as if someone had been chain smoking non-stop for 2 weeks.

Manageress (one dressed in black clothes.. Black eyeliner, black hair - you can't miss her) was more interested in using Facebook on her computer rather than dealing with guests' complaints. Could see in the office her just liking pictures of nails and on Facebook Chat. Very Professional (not). Took 4 days to get the Wi-Fi working in rooms, every day was told to 'come back tomorrow'. In the end the wifi was so unbearably slow it wasn't even worth it.

Maids randomly burst into our room one day and started going through the room checking if we had all the glasses and plates. Was like being at school with the teachers checking if you've broken anything. Rude.

Manageress was also very rude. When making a complaint about whether we were moving rooms or not, she turned to her colleague and spoke Bulgarian, before replying to us. You could obviously make out she was talking about us in Bulgarian. Even the Balkan Holdays Rep called the manageress rude.

The same manageress also accused us of stealing stuff from the rooms. A scam they like to use at this hotel is not give you all the cutlery or glasses the room should come with, and then at the end of your stay, they charge you for the 'missing' stuff. I am on holiday, I don't want to be checking if I have 6 glasses, 6 plates etc in my apartment. When we informed her of a missing glass she said 'WHY DID YOU WAIT A WEEK BEFORE TELLING US?' In a very aggressive tone. So unprofessional.

New room was lovely but only got it after complaining direct to Balkan Holidays. Sheets were frayed and had cigarette burns on. Maids said the bed sheets were changed when they clearly were not.

Very beautiful hotel, rooms cleaned every day, fresh towels etc, but what makes this hotel a 3 star is the poor management. None of the management seem to know what they're doing. Grounds staff and maintenance staff were very good however. Very hardworking. It also lacks some facilities for example mattresses on sun beds!! 2 weeks of pain.

just back from holiday in july13 and had a great time, but would have been better if we had been in different apartments. Rooms not very well maintaned and cleaners only did the very basics, like emptying bins and replacing loo roll. Had to strip our own beds or we would never have had our linen changed. Loads of young groups parting to all times and not a big presence of management to control them. On the plus side the pool was lovely with plenty sun loungers. The linen also didnt fit the beds so the sheets were always bunched up in the mornings.

I visited here with my friend and we had an excellent two bedroom apartment for a night, spacious and clean, with a lovely sitting area close to the pool. The pool area itself is wonderful especially for families with children. The pool is very large and the area spacious so plenty of space to hang out and relax in. As the apartments are set back from the road, it's also very quiet to sleep on an evening but only a short walk to the centre of the resort. The poolside bar and café is very chilled, and the prices are pretty good though the food is OK at best.... Altogether though this is a good choice for a trip to SB and I would highly recommend it

Just back from sun village sunnybeach, this was a very late deal for us, and what we paid for our week and what we got was great value. We had a one bedroom spacious apartment 106 on the ground floor at the back, air con included just as well it was hot the week we were there, last year in Greece we were charged £6 a day for air con . Noise was unheard of, mind you when you enter each block there are signs informing guests people causing excessive noise will be hit with a 400lv fine, as some of the apartments are privately owned. We missed the pool view, however being at the back we caught the afternoon sun and the peacefulness from 4 onwards. This was our 5th visit to sunnybeach, our previous visits have always been beach front hotels quite close to the main resorts. But we weren't disappointed with the location of sun village, a few shortcuts here and there took you about 10min to get to the heart of sunnybeach. plenty of eating establishments and small shops to be found up the back streets. Reasonable size pool and kiddies section plenty of sunbeds to go around ,pool bar serving food and drinks all day nice staff, and Bulgaria is still cheap 75p for a beer, 80p for a local double rum, look forward to another trip in the near future.

Sun Village is a great apartment complex in a great location. The staff are very friendly and will even go out of their way to help. One night we asked reception to book us a taxi that never turned up and another staff member drove us to our destination in their car instead! Very helpful. The apartment may have had its flaws (ripped shower curtain), but was clean and very tidy.

The main beach area is a 10 minute walk away, as is the main nightlife of Sunny Beach. Sveti Vlas (St Vlas) is only a 15 minute bus ride away, and has some amazing beaches and expensive spa hotels. Nessebar is also only a 15 minute bus ride away and has some great historical sites to explore, not to mention loads of fish restaurants, etc.

If you are looking for a holiday that has a range of activities to suit everyone... Sunny Beach is the place to be.

We never wanted to leave!

I'd personally like to thank the staff of Sun Village for making our stay special and stress free. Thank-you.

Chris

Just got back from sun village.me and my partner took our 3 children aged 13 .12 and 9.would highly recommend this complex and Bulgaria it's self.had room 10 A on the second floor big spacious apartment with 3 air conditioning units.cleaned daily and fresh towels always available.very friendly staff and very friendly holiday apartment owners both from uk and Russia.restaurant food on site not up to much but plenty of nearby eateries that are great value for money.me and my partner are in our mid 30s with children of in between ages and although there's no on site entertainment there is plenty to do as they went jet skiing.banana boating.sofa surfing.aqua park and mountin buggying and was very cheap to do all these activities.had no problem with 18 to 30 age groups at all.was really quiet on site.the main strip of sunny beach gets hectic but a couple of times out of your stay I would recommend it as its a great atmosphere down there and not full of rowdy drunks around 10.30 pm we was there and nothing bad for kids to not be there.had a day at nessabar which was lovely.always barter with taxi drivers as they start off high.if shopping for self catering don't buy food or drink close to the beach as there very highly priced.got fined on last night for my son having a nose bleed on towel which had to be thrown away and for a broken glass all of which cost about £10 for every thing.so not too bad really.overall it was a brilliant holiday and will be returning next year with more family members.sarah x
