“Good hotel, very good prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2011

The Ivana Palace is a cheap hotel, but quite a good one, the rooms are large and well furnished with air conditioning and spotlessly clean with clean towels every day. The pool is quite large and there are plenty of sunbeds. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was OK but would recommend the half-board option.

It is a short walk away from the beach, which means it is away from the noise on the sea front but close enough to walk to the resort centre and buses run every few minutes to the old town of Nessabar. We really enjoyed our stay at the Ivana palace and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap beach holiday.

i would stay in the hotel again but self catering only, the food was uneatable and we watched as people were lifting up bread and putting it back in the basket instead of using the tongues provided.

Room Tip: pool view on 1st floor

The haoel was situated away from noise we were at the front so never heard much from pool area food basic but plenty as this was required as there were some greedy people taking bags of food out and towels on sunbeds was a problem all in all a very nice holiday and hotel comfortable and clean would go back

I have only ever left one other review which was last year for a faultless holiday, unlike this one. We arrived at the ivana palace 13 of us in total, with 7 children at around 9pm to be informed that thay had no rooms for us as they had over booked the hotel! they told us that thay had arranged for us to stay in another hotel close by, well thats a story for another day!
On our arrival the receptionist didn't speak very good English, she told us we had to wait for her manager, when the manager eventually turned up she said to us "sorry we have bad news for you" great start to our holiday," the hotel is over booked it is our fault but you can't stay here, what you can do though is use our hotel for your half board option and if you wish you can use our pool" very nice of her don't you think! Well just quickly... the hotel we ended up in eventually was a small family run hotel with no other guests, but it was very clean and the people were lovely, really looked after us! but...there was no half board option, so the next day we walked 15mins up the road back and forth for our meals, we did this for one day and said no way were we going to continue to do this everyday. We walked into the resturant and it was completely empty, not a guest in site, then we realised why. The food was awful, the worst i have ever had, firstly it was cold, hardly any choice, the staff didn't replenish the food once it had gone, we had to keep asking if we could have some more food which we felt really uncomfortable doing, you would then have to wait for them to cook it, then bring out the smallest amount, enough for maybe one out of our three families, the plates for your main meal were the size of side plate, hardly enough for a main meal, it was awful, the staff would stand and stare at you like you were some kind of animal!! so i would stronly reccomend that you do not take the food option in tis hotel!!!! We ate out everyday and there are some very nice resturants with good food, plenty of them too, it is very cheap to eat out, on average it cost for our family of four (adult meals) with drinks around £20-£25 not bad hey! most resturants will give you a free drink with your meal.
Whilst we were in the hotel having a drink after the lovely meal lol, we wittnessed the receptionist informing other guests that they were over booked and they couldn't stay at the hotel, my son also had to pop into the hotel to colllect something and again they were informing more guest the same!
WE are not moaners by a long shot, as i said only ever written one other review, we always make the best of whatever we are given, but it seems like this is quite common at this hotel and would like to warn people to think very carefully about booking this hotel, to avoid others having the dissapointment that we had for our first couple of days!!

My girlfriend and I both stayed at the Ivana Palace Hotel for 2 weeks, commencing 11th July 2011. We are both 20 years of age and have previously been to Marmaris in Turkey.

Firstly, the hotel itself: Large hotel, very clean and modern. Looks as good as the others around it with some of these being 4 stars. We stayed Bed and Breakfast so were given a room with no frills, just the basic essentials: 2 beds, television, mini fridge, balcony with pool view, toilet, and shower which was very powerful and we had no problems with water going from cold to hot to cold (which we did in Turkey and I have previously on past visits to Bulgaria). Maids cleaned room every day to a great standard and fresh towels were provided daily. No complaints about the room - it was exactly as you would want.
The bar staff were very friendly and always willing to have a chat with you. Receptionists are ok although one or two understand very little English.

Food: The food in the hotel was not great, so it seemed our decision not to go half board was a good one. Breakfast was poor, but that didn't bother us as there were plenty of small takeaways/restaurants around where you could get something else. My personal choice was a cheese and ham toasty at the price of £2. Im not a fussy eater...
Pizza's available for lunch time snacks from the hotel were worth the buy however, very tasty and good for that day time munch or hangover cure.

Drink: The drink selection in the hotel was vast, ranging from local lagers to imported drink favourites such as magners, crabbies and so on. 3 leva for a pint of local beer at the pool bar was great value - £1.50. You can't complain. Even cheaper in the shops for bottles of beer/vodka. 1litre of vodka = £7.

The resort itself was bigger than i expected, with a lovely beach which offered a range of water sports such as jet ski, para sailing and so on. Head to the beach from your hotel and take a walk right along, you will not struggle for beach bars and you will eventually come to the main strip/square, where the busy nightlife is. There are nightclubs and bars a-plenty. Excellent choice for couples, singles, families. If you don't fancy the walk in, a bus is only 1 lev and you should get off at "Centre" if you want to enter the main part straight away. Taxi's are from 10-20 leva depending on time/how drunk you are !! Always negotiate price before you get in, as on our first night we were ripped off!

We had a wonderful stay and I would recommend the holiday to anyone. It can cater for all ages.

I booked this hote as it had good reviews and seemed like a nice safe hotel. It is cleaned daily and fresh towels daily also. Nice staff and a nice pool, always managed to get a sunbed each day. Its about a 15-20 minute walk to Flour Street which is where all the bars and clubs are or you can pay about 10-15 lev for a taxi, which is about £5 - 7.5 which isn't bad. The food in the hotel isn't the best, so would say that it is not worth going half board and it is cheap to eat out anyway. I don't think we paid more than £15 for a sit down meal with a drink. The pizzas in the hotel are pretty nice though so if you are peckish, have one. All in all i thouroughly enjoyed my time here.
