We had an extra day in Jamestown and decided to see the Stutsman County Museum. The house inself is worth seeing besides all of the interesting things they have collected in the museum. It's 3 floors, including an attic with several rooms and a large basement. It has Tiffany glass and a lot of nice woodwork. The kitchen had a collection of old appliances. There was a room with a collection of dolls, I believe in the attic. The attic also had a room full of old treadle sewing machines. We had some trouble finding this museum. We asked a policeman who thought it might be near the police station and it was. It's northwest of the downtown area. The house isn't particularly attractive on the outside, but the inside is definitely worth seeing. There was a stair chair that went to the basement and, I think, up a back stairway to at least the second floor. There is no fee, but they take donations.
