“Very nice stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2011 via mobile

After a long ride west on 94 we were greeted by Sara and fresh cookies. Room was super clean and cozy. Worth the cost. Excellent breakfast my husband was thrilled with the pancake machine!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2011

I stay here once a year in August to visit family in the Jamestown area. I've never had a bad experience here and our most recent stay was no different. The pool/hot tub are clean and towels are well stocked. Our room was on the 3rd floor, more or less overlooking the front entrance to the hotel. A little bit of road/traffic noise from the busy interstate highway and traffic in front of the hotel, but nothing ear-piercing. Breakfast was clean and well-stocked. My only disappointment is that the price of this hotel seems to have climbed a little - but apparently demand for hotel rooms in the area is quite high due to railroad workers, etc. This is definitely the best name-brand place to stay in Jamestown, hands down, and we'll continue to come back.

We've tried them all and continue to return to the Holiday Inn Express for our annual trek to ND for Mom's birthday (this one was #93!). We were in room 110, ground floor, and it was great. Love the huge counter in the bathroom and the king size bed was beyond excellent, with choice of pillows. The breakfast room is kept impeccable by the same lady year after year and the wi-fi is free. The only recommendation I have is to request the top floor. We had kids jumping off the bed above us and ended up having to call the front desk. They got it stopped almost immediately. Thanks HIE, we'll be back.

This hotel was priced about right for the location and the room was clean, nice and the staff hospitable. A small pizza joint shares the same parking lot location. I travel quite a bit in the midwest, south central areas and found this hotel better that alot I have stayed. I have found that good hotels in this area and around Minot are booked fast on the weekends so make sure if possible to make reservations. The only thing lacking for such a big room and the rate is there was no mini-fridge or microwave.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2010

this is my second time staying there in the last 2 years while visiting family.

location: proximity to I-94 interstate, mall, food, fuel, etc. is excellent
rooms: basic, clean, fixtures were older, but I didn't see mold or cracked tiles.
lobby: basic, clean
staff: nice
gym: right off the lobby, small, but the equipment was good quality. I used it several times and never saw anyone else use it. Had a flat screen so something to watch while working out.
pool/hot tub: used both. nice, right off the lobby.

cons: got a non-smoking room but the floor had smoking rooms on it so you still smelled smoke so what's the point?

breakfast buffet was included - basic. Closed at 9:30a apparently. On a Sunday morning we got there at 9:50a and were turned away. I'm Jewish so don't attend church--why close that early on a Sunday morning of all days?!

Security. a group of "kids" in their 20s were guests at the hotel one night we were there, they brought beer/pizza and proceeded to have a party that moved from their room/across from our room to the pool area. We confirmed this the next morning when we saw empty pizza and beer case boxes by the pool along with dirty towels--no one had bothered to clean up the pool area the next morning when we used it. I called the front desk that night since they were loud and informed them I would not tolerate this nonsense on our floor but clearly they did nothing with them at the pool which is right off the lobby.

Stayed here on Nov 29-30. Was given smoking room 323. Asked numerous times to switch to non-smoking room but staff claimed rooms were filled. Parking lot had 15 cars in it at about 9:30pm? Front desk staf was the worst i have ever encountered for being a priority club member. No pet policy but smoking rooms available is ridiculous. Options are limited in Jamestown but will not stay here again.
