“Higher Class Dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2011

The thing I loved most about Granite City was the great atmosphere and the delicious food. I thought that it was reasonably priced for the quality and amount of food you received. Overall I would recommend Granite City without a doubt.

“Quality food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2010

The parking lot of this place is always crowded like the one of a Texas Megachurch.
If you like good service, this is the place. I find it overserviced, there seems to be always two or three servers coming at once to fullfil all your needs.
The steaks and mashed potatos are very good, waiting times can be long and it's noisy.
They have a microbrewery, the beer is good but not exceptional.

“Crowded, noisy and overrated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2010

My food was just above room temperature and had the appearance of having sat on the plate for quite some time while waiting for my wife's food to be ready. (her's was steaming hot)

The walleye was heavily breaded and reminded me of something from the supermarket freezer section. The garlic mashed potatoes were really good, in spite of being room temp.

The ceiling is a high metal framework with no sound deadening. This is NOT the place for a quiet romantic dinner. With the TV's all over the place it is more like a sports bar trying to act like a nice restaurant.

I would maybe visit again, but only during odd hours when they're not so busy.

“Worth a stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2010

People are often tempted, while traveling through No. Dakota on the interstate, to just keep going. However, Fargo is a delightful town to spend time in, perhaps to spend a night.
A great place to have good ale and great food is Granite City Food & Brewery 1636 42nd St S. They have several world class ales, as well as a diverse menu. I had a huge salad that was a complete meal, along with one of the best IPAs in the midwest. And, as in all of No. Dakota, the people there were friendly and made me feel like a regular.

“Sunday Brunch is Awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2010

We ate at the Sunday Brunch here the day after the Bon Jovi concert, and the place was so busy. Even with a long line, we only had to wait about 20 minutes, and then once we were seated, we could eat right away since we were having the brunch. At first, the buffet didn't look very big, but there were several items on it and they were high quality. I usually don't like buffets but this one was awesome. The food was ALL hot and fresh, along with some fresh fruit and a couple of salads. They also bring fresh caramel rolls to your table if you want them. The service was awesome, the food was great, and we found it to be a pretty good value.
