“Not a bad Art Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2011

The building is one of the oldest warehouses in Fargo. There are 3 floors, each showing of a different type of Art. One floor will show local oil paintings, while another will show black and white photographs. The museum rotates it displays out around every other month or so. When I visited in August, the North Dakota Mural was on display, and I thought it was pretty cool.

“reception”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2011

We went to a wedding reception here! Worked so well because they had the music on the 1st floor and on the 3rd floor you could visit if you didn't want to be by the music!

“Art for the common man”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2011

There were three main galleries; the first was donations from a couple in New York who donated works of art to museums in all 50 states. Mostly a collection of New York artists who prioritized the concept of art and less on the final art. The second gallery was a gift from the Scheels family and was primarily B&W photos. Nothing exceptional but good compositions of a variety of familiar scenes and objects including gifts by some famous photographers. The third gallery consisted of big art-large sculptures, murals and installations by local artists asked to think big. All in all, it was an interesting and enjoyable tour and the building is equally historic and artistic.

The art is wonderful and unique. Free for college students! The real secret is cafe muse, my favorite dining spot in town. You must check this out! Fabulous lunches!
