“Great Stopover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2009

We stopped here on the way back from the mountains and really lucked out. Almost new hotel with a mini water park that the kids loved. Room was very comfortable. Standard continental breakfast. Very good AAA price.

This was a great hotel! My wife and I met with some other family and we all stayed at this hotel. It was a great decision.

The room was great. It had a cabin type feel to it in its decor, but still had granite counter tops and a flat screen TV. Our impression when we got into the room was that we wanted to be able to spend some time in the room to take advantage of how nice it was.

We traveled with our dog, and received a welcome doggy bag with treats upon arrival. The outside door entrance was great for easy access to the outside grounds. The designated pet rooms are at the ends of the hallways. The room was all hard-wood floors (the only room of the 3 our family rented) but otherwise was exactly the same. We liked the hardwood floors better than the carpeted rooms.

Our family had many young children staying, and they LOVED the pool. It is not just a boring square pool with hot tub in the corner. It has a basketball court, 2 slides, a water cannon, and other fun things for kids to use in the pool. We were very impressed- and the kids tired out.

A great place to stay- friendly service and great facility. We will stay here anytime we need a hotel in Fargo!

After a bit of research, the Best Western Kelly Inn and Suites won out over The Holiday Inn by a slight margin (it was also $10 less per night). We were so glad that we stayed here! The rooms are spacious, homey and really charming. Because it is a newer hotel, you can expect to find everything in tip-top shape. Because we have younger kids, the swimming pool was perfect! It deepens gradually, so even my 2 year old at the time, had a blast going down the small water slide. The older children looked like they were having a ball in the deeper end and neither side interfered with the other! The other highlight was the breakfast area - can't go wrong with those do-it-yourself waffles!! I would absolutely reccomend this hotel and would stay here again!!

My family and I are just back from a brief mini-vacation at this hotel. We had a great time and the facilities were outstanding.

The room was immaculate and well appointed. We appreciated the mini-fridge and large amount of counter space above the fridge. We really liked the two-door arrangement- one from the parking lot to the room and one from the room to the interior hallway. It made unpacking and packing a breeze. We had a double queen room that was one of the rooms on the first floor closest to the pool (room 114). It was perfect as we were mostly there to let the kids swim. The pool is set off nicely so we never heard any noise from the pool in our room though. We actually heard very little noise at all (although we were there on a Wed night- Thurs night stay so the hotel was likely not fully booked).

The pool area was perfect for us- exactly what we were looking for. It had a nice shallow area for my 3 year old. And my 6 and 8 year olds were well entertained with the slides and water walk. The shallow end is 1.5 feet and the deepest part is 3.5 feet. In the morning the sun shines in the windows- it’s just a great bright spot in the middle of winter. The one thing I would add is that the hotel rents out the pool facility for birthday parties on weekdays- so you may want to ask about that. From the literature in the room it does appear that this is restricted to weekdays only. It didn’t impact us as we arrived back at the hotel after dinner just as the parties were ending around 7pm.

I highly recommend this hotel.

big flat screen tv, couch and chair in sitting area, desk w chair, lodge-type decorations, kind of dark lighting, granite sink in room, coffee maker and frig. Large whirlpool, jetted tub/shower. had room on first floor with entry door to both the inside secure hallway and also a door directly to parking lot.
in the evening, smelled pot coming from adjacent room. There was a door that could connect the two rooms as if a suite and pot smoke was very strong. called front desk to complain and they had police come and remove people from the hotel. swift, legal response.
nice breakfast (heavy on the carbs) and beautiful breakfast area with fireplace and flat screen tv. we didn't use the pool, but walked in to check it out and it was large, bright, and had lots of stuff to keep kids entertained.
at least 2 nice restaurants and a gas station within easy walking distance.

Stayed at the Kelly Inn for a week of work during September 2008. I like the lodge decor throughout the interior and exterior of the hotel. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed. The lighting in the room was rather dim, even with all possible lights turned on. Gives that lodging feel, however, not always convenient for working. They have a nice pool area designed for children and the continental breakfast was good with make your own waffles and the traditional continental food. Hotel is relatively new and was clean. Work staff were pleasant. Overally a good choice for a new hotel in Fargo, ND.

  • Liked — Lodge decor throughout
  • Disliked — Dim lighting in the rooms.

The Best Western Kelly Inn & Suites in Fargo, ND opened it's doors in June 2008.
As a Gold Crown Club member of the Best Western chain, I made reservations via the BW website. We had stayed in the Kelly Best Western in Fargo on many prior occasions, and did not look at the address. We just booked the rooms.
Arriving in Fargo, we habitually drove to what we assumed was the BW Kelly, only to discover that the old Kelly Inn was no longer a Best Western hotel. We were directed to what is now the BW Kelly Inn & Suites.
What a pleasant surprise. It is a large hotel, conveniently located just 2 blocks south of the major shopping area.
The reception and check-in was extremely courteous and efficient.
The room, on the ground floor, was a good size with two very comfortable queen size beds, fridge, microwave oven, coffeemaker, and large flat screen television.
The bathroom was very spacious and well laid out, including a hair dryer and numerous soft fluffy towels. However, we felt that the sink area should have been a bit larger.
Our room featured 2 entrances, one to the parking area and one to the hall way.
The room was very nicely decorated and featured wonderful wildlife framed prints. The free internet connection has an excellent speed.
We stayed three days and were impressed with the efficiency and quality of the housekeeping.
The hotel features a wonderful interactive pool that is a hit with all children visiting the hotel.
According to the information on the website, this hotel offers an extensive breakfast, however, we were unable to sample this. Unfortunately, the breakfast area is too small for the size of this hotel and simply did not have enough seating. Added to this was the fact that the breakfast area is not friendly for handicapped people.
It is the latter aspect of this hotel that makes me rate it as 4 3/4 out of 5.
I can definitely recommend this new hotel to anyone visiting the Fargo area,.
