Pizza Ranch is a chain based in the midwest. It is an all you can eat buffet featuring many different kinds of pizza, a salad bar, and chicken (both fried and bbq). On the pizza buffet they have maybe a dozen different types of pizza out all the time - everything from your basic pepperoni pizza all the way up to some unusual ones like the "Texas Taco." The salad bar was pretty basic - not something that you could make a meal out of if you weren't in the pizza mood - but a perfect complement to the other food offerings on the buffet. I tried the fried chicken and it was pretty decent. They also offer homemade potato chips which were excellent, wedge fries, mashed potatoes and gravy, and a few other sides. They have some dessert pizzas which were good but maybe a bit on the sweet side, and soft serve ice cream.
Buffets are definitely nice for families, and Pizza Ranch has a little something for everyone, and plenty of it. I would call the food quality "average." It certainly is not the best pizza I've ever had - not even close - but it all tasted just fine and it's probably as good as or better than most other fast food pizzas I've had around the country. And, the price was right. My family of three, including our 6-year old, ate for less than $25, which is quite a bargain considering what we got.
I only have one complaint about this restaurant, at least on the night I was there - it was a bit on the dirty side. Granted it was a Friday night and they were busy, but many of the booths and tables sat piled up high with dirty dishes for quite a long time, and the floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in several days with dirty napkins and food crumbs all over the place. We had to go chase someone down to wipe down a table for us. That part was a little off-putting and maybe they were a little understaffed that evening and had difficulty keeping up with the Friday dinner crowd, but I would certainly encourage their management to do a much better job there.
