“Pie Stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2014

A good place to stop for pie. We had banana and lemon, both good. Staff always cordial and helpful. Just N of the junction of Hwy 281 and Hwy 200.

“Good food and very fair prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2014

We eat here quite a bit and the food is always good and the prices very fair for this day and age. It is handy to get to on the north side of Carrington but if you have a semi you would have to park in the service station across the road.

“Nice homecooked dinner.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

I stopped here for dinner and was greeted by a friendly waitress as I entered. I ordered the roast beef dinner (apprx $8) which came with carrots and mashed potato's. The whole dinner was fine, but the portion size was a little less than I hoped for. The roast beef was tender and juicy, but slightly bland. It wasn't seasoned at all in the least bit. But it tasted good overall. I also had a few beers while I ate and they were around $3 a bottle. There really isn't too much more to say about this place. It's a nice place to go for a quiet homecooked dinner and be served by friendly people who provide a decent meal.

“Breakfast Any Time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

There are not a lot of choices when it comes to dining in Carrington; but this place can date itself back to the 1970's when "Country Kitchen" restaurants made a big push across the plains. Little has changed since then other than the name.

The menu is fairly basic with a wide range of sandwiches and burgers, dinners and breakfast served any time. How can you go wrong with scrambled eggs, meaty bacon and crisp hash browned potatoes!

Service was very friendly and the portions were generous...not to mention the coffee was not too bad, as well.

“Typical diner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

There are few places to eat between Carrington and New Rockford, and even fewer mentioned on Trip Advisor. This is a very family-oriented, casual dining place. The waitstaff was very nice. I had a bison burger (pronounced "BI-zen" in ND), which was all right. Would never have known it was bison; it was a bit dry, but decent. The banana-split pie for dessert made it all worth while. If you want good burgers, it's worth the 16 mile drive north to Nathan's on 281 in New Rockford (although they may not be open during the fall/winter). However, this place has a wider menu and is an improvement on the Rockford Cafe (pronounced "cuh-FAY" in ND).
