“Could be excellent, but not quite there”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2012

The menu reads like the food would be haute cuisine, but it only tastes slightly better than what you would get at a chain. I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't wowed. The best thing about the meal was the rolls that come with dinner. My service was well below par for the supposed caliber of the restaurant. Maybe it was just an off night.

“not as good as you'd expect for the price.”

not really more to say. Seafood not as good as you'd expect close to the ocean.

“Special occasion great brunch spot!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2011

I like to go for Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, or anytime they have a buffet. Elaborate, cost$$$. Otherwise, their daily breakfast is quite fun. Big bar, super ocean view, very well tended grounds, flowers, plants. I like the piano bar.

“Anniversary Gataway!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

Came to Blockade for a long weekend. The beach was beautiful as always. The staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel was clean and the food good. Beds could use a little updating.
