“Well worth the stop !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

We read the trip advisor reviews on Sweet Potatoes on our way to Florida. We're from Cape Cod, MA and enjoy trying local resturants when we travel. We arrived at 2:00 Pm for a late lunch and was impressed that the place was full. We had a short wait and great professional service. I loved the daily special of salad with shrimp, crab cake and shredded sweet potatoe. My husband enjoyed the ham & corn soup combo with the meatloaf sandwich . Everything was seasoned perfectly and full of flavor. Thank you Sweet Potatoes for your creative cooking. We will be back and I will add shredded sweet potatoes to my salads in the future . Thank you Trip Advisor for helping us get away from the chain resturants.

“What a great little place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012 via mobile

Great find in downtown Winston Salem. Such a nice little place to go, a must if you are in the area. Stopped in for lunch. Had the onion soup which was amazing, a hot brown, not as good as a Kentucky hot brown but still really good and different in it's own way than a KY one! Also had a sweet potato which was great. Prices were good. Friendly wait staff. Music a tad loud. Pretty nice environment. Was quite busy but we were in and out in 45 minutes. So glad we stopped in. Would love to go back and try more! A must do while in town!!

“Lovely Sunday Brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

It was a beautiful Sunday and we drove to town (10 miles) for brunch at Sweet Potatoes. It is a small restaurant but we only had a short wait. I had a chance to talk to the hostess, Deborah Fair, that I used to teach with.
Everthing is made to order...my husband had eggs sardou with stone ground grits which he rated as excellent. I had freshly prepared fried chicken, gravy, cheese grits, and a huge sweet potato biscuit I also had a take out container. We were full. No need for dessert.
Service was very attentive.
Prices were reasonable.
We took a stroll down the arts district street where Sweet Potatoes is located after lunch.

“Sweet Potatoes gives your tongue a reason to sing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

We visited as a family so you know we were the loudest! We have children of all ages from babies to teens. Everyone found something of superior taste. The prices are very reasonable and the staff are so welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed so don't hurry through.

“Southern food with flava!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Nice urban location for a private lunch or dinner for two. The restaurant is small and cozy, but the food is big and tasty! On the menu, it's like they took some traditional favorites and hiked them up cajun style with sweet potatoes being the main focus. Our server was "Jasper" who was very knowledgable. I wanted to try the sweet potato pie, but they were sold out (sad face). That's a good sign that dessert is just as delicious as the main course. We'll be back!
