“A tasty morsel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

While in Wilmington,we decided to stop for lunch at The George and was pleasantly greeted by a hostess to seat us. We sat at an outside table, under an umbrella with a beautiful afternoon view of the river. We were waited on by Warren, who I found to be very professional, and eager to make our experience worth the trip. He did not hover over our table, giving us just the attention and space we preferred. He is an asset to the eatery. Very happy doing his job. Having waited tables for years, I asked for suggestions. I ordered the fish and chips while my husband had an Oyster Po Boy. I am pleased to say, both were delicious. The fish was fried, though not greasy at all, and served with malt vinegar, tarter and cocktail sauce and I tasted them all. The fries were crisp and not soggy. My husband said his oysters were among the best in the area and the roll was not the standard squishy roll that we have become accustomed to, here in the south. The roll was crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. After years of living up north, we know good bread..lol. Fabulous! Can't wait to go for dinner one evening, I hear they're steaks are wonderful!

“Not Very Good”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

Terribly overpriced and mediocre, at best, food. Seafood over-breaded and greasy, even the cole slaw was bland and unappetizing. Service was good as was the view. That's about it.

“Just Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

Average restaurant. Nothing special. We both had the filet mignon which was good. Overpriced just average food and service. Best part of dinner is the view of the water.

“Always Great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

We've dined here, traveling by boat or car, at least 10 times over the past 2 years, and the outside atmosphere, food and service have always been excellent.

“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Went here on Sunday with family and friends great location right on the riverfront it was too hot to sit outside so we waited by the bar for a table was not a long wait and we had our table. The cheddar biscuits were great food came quickly I had a Chicken Panini It was so good. I really liked the fact that is started to rain and storm while we were there and we decided to wait it out and we were never rushed off. I would love to go back again
