“Nice tour and History Lesson”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Being from the north and loving old houses I wanted to hear all about the history of this house and the family who lived here. Our tour guide was great, dressed in period fashion, we enjoyed all the details of the little gem. We were able to take some pictures outside to be able to share with family. I enjoyed seeing the slave quarters and sitting on the chairs on the porch thinking about the history of this place. It was well worth the stop if you are a history buff.

“Charming plantation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

Very nice little plantation in Wilmington. Beautiful home and nice tour. The grounds are open for free, but there is a fee for the house tour. It is no longer a functioning plantation, but they have a small plot of peanuts still growing for visitors to see.

“went to the market”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

I have only been for the farmer's market, but there are events here, too. Rustic, but pretty.

“not our favorite but the farmers market on Wednesday is a pleasure”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2012

The plantation has beautiful grounds and a lovely place to sit and rest. Younger children will
enjoy the few farm animals but the animals around are slim and not a petting area. The tools
used in history are interesting but again there are just a few to admire. The old garden area
at the time we visited could have been better mainained and extremely small. Inside the tour
house you will be met by a store with cook books- books and a few items. I would skip the tour
and enjoy the pleasant walk around the plantation and let the children enjoy the time to run
a bit and see the animals-its free and pleasant. If you want a great selection of farm fresh foods
and some home made items go early Wednesday morning. Be alert the entrance is a tad difficult to find the first time and the road in front is heavily traveled. Just be patient and if you pass it a U-turn is not far away.
I PUT THIS AS A FREE ATTRACTION BUT THERE IS A CHARGE TO TOUR THE HOUSE!
YOU HAVE THE CHOICE OF EITHER*
