So we are temporarily living in Jacksonville NC and having a hard time finding good food - ok the kind of good food we like. There are plenty of fast food places, plenty of restaurants, but we are admittedly having trouble finding the quality we have come to expect. That said.............
We again took to Trip Advisor looking for Indian cuisine in the area and were so very disappointed to find we'd have to drive to Wilmington to get our curry fix.
But it was well worth the drive and we found out there is a sister restaurant here in Jax.(Yippee) We haven't tried the sister locale yet, but will likely do so this weekend.
So back to the Wilmington location - the service was wonderful, the food authentic and really well done, the number of naan choices was amazing (love the spinach) and prices really reasonable. It is a lovely interior really well decorated and very relaxing. The tables are very nice, and the lighting is muted. We took a newbie with us (cute little teenage girlfriend of cute little teenage son) who had never eaten anything curried before. She is a convert and that says alot, being she's a teen, never eats anything but McWhatever, and was on a 2nd date. Our dishes around the table were the Veggie Samosa appetizers, Lamb Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Masala, and for drinks the Mango Lassi.
We all brought leftovers home which were wiped out before bedtime - even the cute little girlfriend (we found out via text) ate hers and is now begging mom and dad to take her back.
So if you love good Indian food, you have a go to spot while on vacation down here at the beach or if you are local. The lunch buffet also is a fantastic deal.
Hope you get the chance to try it. You'll be glad you did.
