“Fun river cruise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Wilmington Water Tours gave our group of 25 adults a wonderful two hour tour of the Cape Fear River. The guide was informative and friendly, providing historical background and current ecology of the river. They took time to answer our questions and just chat with us.

“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Have been on water tour three times. Anniversary- just the two of us on an evening cruise down the river. Birthday with the whole family on a Saturday afternoon and a spur of the moment cruise one evening when we heard there was a strawberry moon tour. Romantic and quieter than the others. Staff was very friendly and very informative about the area's history. Food was local restaurant fare. A glass of punch cocktail was included and an cash bar was available. We enjoyed all three trips,

“Relaxing Sunset Cruise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Last evening we took a relaxing sunset cruise on the Wilmington Water Tours. Don't be fooled by the lack of fancy trappings when you look at the boat. We had a great time! Easy slow cruise on the Cape Fear and around Eagle Island. Friendly staff who actually come and sit and chat with you. Just enough historical details without talking the entire trip. It is obvious that the crew wants you to relax and enjoy the scenery and not hear them talk. You can buy snacks and drinks, including wine and beer, or bring your own snacks (but not alcoholic beverages). It was a great evening and we will do it again soon.

“Great Water Tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

Wilmington Water Tours offers a variety of cruises from 50 minutes to 2 hours with some special cruises lasting much longer. My wife and I have taken most of the cruises and enjoyed all of them. We particularly like the cruises up the Cape Fear and Black River. As a Wilmington resident I am often in awe of how beautiful the surrounding area is. The beauty of the river and its abundant wildlife make every cruise an enjoyable adventure. Wilmington has a rich history dating from early 16th Century exploration and settlement through the Revolutionary War including the last major battle of the Civil War at Fort Fisher. The Captain, Doug, is very knowledgeable about the river and the city of Wilmington. The crew is very personable and help make every cruise an enjoyable and informative experience. Food is offered on many longer trips with drinks and snacks available at the bar anytime.

“Relax and Learn with Captain Doug”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

What a great way to get out on the water, let someone else do the driving, learn about the area, take great photos, and even have lunch. I've been on many of the tours that Captain Doug offers, and every one is great. Most are in the 2-4 hour range with some as long as 6 hours. Prices vary dependent on the length of the trip. Sunset trips are shorter and sometimes have music. There's a trip for anyone's fancy - from history, to bird watching, to music, to photography -many with guest speakers.
